I started using Intuit Quickbooks last night and signed up for their free web site (one year free with my software). I created a web site in the site builder. Apparently this triggers a marketing call from this number.

I didn't ask for or want this call.

Darn it, I just missed the call, I did not know it was homestead.  Easy to use software and free telephone support.  Perfect for my Mom because she has two or three small businesses and there is no HTML programming required.  The tool lets you host a multitude of websites with numerous domain names.  It really is the perfect solution for Mom.  Homestead was acquired by Intuit in 2007(The QuickBooks Software Manufacture, another one of Mom's favorite software packages).  Homestead is a great fit for Intuit because customers that need QuickBooks also need a website.  Next time I see 1 800 710 1998 displayed on my caller id, I'll grab it.

Clever way to market your product! But you should disclose your association with Intuit when you do this. It is a good company and they are making follow-up calls to existing customers and to people who have submitted inquiries.

I was called several times in the last few days.  I answer the phone and whoever is on the other end (computer?) immediately hangs up.

They (Homestead) called me outta the blue which lead into a sales pitch regarding additional services and an upgrade to my account. This is and was in violation of the national do not call legislation. I told them to not try this again, or I would dump their account faster than a rabbit gets ****** ! And yes, I was upset. The guy on the other end said " you don't need to use profanity" I said, " HEY, you called me unwarranted and interrupted my focus on a project of great importance to me in order to sell me a product I don't need. So, therefore you get to listen to whatever I say and however I say it, free of charge! Hang up if thine ear offends thee." Then I hung up.

What? Too harsh? I'm rude? I'm a meanie Waaaaa! Waaaaa!
Well here's a news flash! I'm NOT a complacent soft bellied American like 99% of the current citizens of this once great country. I regularly place my boot squarely up the backside of wherever it needs placing. In my old age I'm not going down softly.

Mike, I hate to break it to you but just because you are old doesn't mean you're entitled to anything, that includes rudeness and lack of general decorum. I think you are a bit too old to be having temper tantrums.

By the way, since you already have an account with the company they are allowed to contact you. This is what is referred to as an "existing business relationship" according to the FTC. Now that you have asked them to no longer be contacted, the should not so, and if they do, then they are in violation of the law.
