looks like scam... there is a message to call back from scotia bank. when i called back there is no one to talk to except it is going to an automated system and asking me to give personal information. sounds very much like a scam to me. don't know how to get rid of these people. since switching to videotron, there is lot of telemarketing calls. which i hate.

Yes, it souds like a scam because there is no name in the message, they don't present themselves as a bank wich is very suspicious.
I am a client of Scotia Bank and when they call, they leave a number and a name in addition to the bank name information.

Called, left a message to call them back because they are doing an investigation on my accounts.  They did not address me by my surname and name, just name. I thought that was weird.  I called back and it says that this conversation will be entirely automated, when they started asking my full name etc... I ended the call, I new this was a scam.  I called my bank to see if there was anything the matter with my accounts and they said no, I then reported that call to them.

Fait plusieurs fois que je reçoit des appels de ce numéro , je suis cliente de Scotia Bank mais juste pour une carte Visa , et chaque fois j'ai raccrocher , je vais appeller Scotia pour plus d'explication voir si c'est eux qui font ces appels , car pas moyen de parler à quelqu'un , c'est une machine qui nous parle

3 fois en 4 jours que ça appele. Mis mon code postal pour voir et ça dis merci et ça raccroche. c'esy un SCAM assuré. Mais le pire c'est qu'ils nomment ton nom dans le message automatique

I'm also a client of Scotia and I wouldn't be surprised if these calls are on their part. They are so unprofessional. I have my mortgage with them and can't wait to see this hell end. Lost my job last year and almost lost my house. On the phone, they told me they would wait the few weeks for my money to come in. The second day after I had that conversation, I received a letter mentioning that they would take my house. A few more months and this nightmare will be over.

Je suis aussi cliente de Scotia et ne ne serais pas surprise que ces appels soient d'eux. Ils manquent tellement de professionnalisme. J'ai mon hypothèque avec eux et j'ai tellement hâte que cet enfer se termine. J'ai perdu mon emploi l'année dernière et j'ai passé proche perdre ma maison. Au téléphone, ils m'avaient dit qu'ils attendraient les quelques semaines que je reçoive l'argent que j'attendais et le surlendemain je recevais une lettre m'avertissant qu'ils allaient saisir ma maison. Encore que quelques mois et ce cauchemar sera terminé.

Most likely, it's more than a scam... Phishing for missing details on their gathered [***]!! This company calling me while representing bank of Nova Scotia, the number was 1-800-711-9936,  an automated female voice from the 1-800-711-9936, which I tried to call back, number is no good?

After telling me that Scotia Bank want to discuss with me on an ongoing investigation, they requested me to identify myself with my 3 first digit of my postal code? After 3 trial, their system sais “Sorry, it seems to you may have some problems, we will call you back later to try again”

And 10 minutes later, I received a call from +92 52 362733, but nobody speaking and I hung up?? Beware...

J'ai eu ce message hier en arrivant à la maison. Le ton de la voix est "alarmant" et le fait qu'il dise ton nom, c'est inquiétant. Comme j'ai déjà été victime d'un vol de données qui ont eu lieu à la Scotia, je me pose de sérieuses questions. En effet, il y a un an on me téléphonait de la Scotia, rue de Maisonneuve à Montréal pour me dire qu'un employé était parti avec "des données sur des clients" dont je faisais partie. Je ne vous dis pas le temps que j'ai mis à avertir tous mes contacts financiers car "je" devais m'en charger, sans oublier les bureaux de crédit. Scotia ne faisait que s'excuser et encore, la jeune fille lisait son texte préparé à l'avance.

Ça fait plus d'un an que je reçois des appels de ce numéro et plusieurs fois par semaine, j'en ai vraiment mare! J'ai appelé Banque Scotia et ils disent que ce numéro ne leur appartient pas. C'est donc de la fraude téléphonique. Prenez-y garde!

This is a call form scotia bank if u have a loan with them and a payment didnt pass they are just calling to ask when they can take the payment

I checked with scotia bank and it's not any if their official number. It's phishing. Fraud. I contacted the RCMP and they are investigating. Please don't give your personal information.

J'ai reçu des appels de ce numéro tous les jours depuis des semaines, mais comme c'est un numéro 1800 que je ne connais pas, j'ignore toujours les appels. Aujourd'hui, ils ont laissé un message automatisé me demandant de rappeler la Banque Scotia (en fait, demandant à un certain Marc-André *** ou une certaine Monica *** de les rappeler). Je rappelle en ayant l'intention de leur dire qu'ils ont le mauvais numéro (mon nom n'étant ni Marc-André, ni Monica, et n'étant même pas cliente de cette banque!), et je tombe sur un système entièrement automatisé… J'ai trouvé ça louche et j'ai raccroché. Désolé à Marc-André et sa conjointe si cet appel était véridique (ce qui m'étonnerait énormément), la banque devra trouver un autre moyen de vous contacter!

5 ans.. 5 ans que ce numéro affiche sur mon télphone, 1 a 4 fois semiane....  Meme message avec mon prénom m'interpellant de les contacter!  Aucun paiment en [***] de ma part !!!!!  Quelqu'un sais comment bloquer leur appels?

J'ai fait plusieurs plaintes au centre anti-fraude, enregistré les appels de leur part et leurs tentatives pour avoir des informations personnelles critiques comme mon numéro d'assurance social et date de naissance.  Rien à faire contre eux (car oui ce sont des fraudeurs). Le centre anti-fraude me dit que puisqu'il s'agit d'un # 1-800, il est difficile d'agir contre eux.

Mais j'ai réussi à parlé à un "agent" en appelant. Il demande de rentre notre numéro de téléphone, j'ai entré un # au hasard et j'ai été transféré.

It´s not true. I talk to the real ScotiaBank and they told me that they did not try to contact me and that is a scam. When they try to reach you, it's in their files. They were able to tell me the exact time they contacted me for real.

A call from Scotia Bank saying that they need personnal information. When I called Scotia for more information (I called Scotia and not the number they had given for me to call) the young lady did not seem to care at all, Had no idea what to do, Did not take the number I was left with. And said be careful with those call. But did not transfer me to another department. Scotia did not care that they were using their name, obviously. It tells you a lot about our banks, if you ask me.

they dont stop calling

Just received a call from this number, saying they were calling from Scotia. First part was automated and asking question a kid could foul. I got to a human and asked a # to call back. She gave a different number than the one they were calling from (1-888-454-1676). I confirmed with my bank and there were no reason to call me. So this was a scam.
