No idea who called.

This is apparently a collection agency.   The usual type, their number is identified as QVS on caller ID.   The usual cagy and cryptic messages.   Call multiple times per day.  Don't know if they're legitimate or not, but, like most people, I don't answer calls from 800 or 866 numbers, because no matter who they're from, collection agency or telemarketer, they always want $$$ and rarely take no for an answer.

Not sure who it is --- but I answered one time and it was for a person who did not live here --- so I told them that the person had DIED

Just received a cold call this number. Caller identified self and said they were with CBCS. Internet check says CBCS is a collection agency. Caller eaid she was calling about a business matter and asked me to confirm personal information which they did provide. I refused to confirm, telling them that I would neither confirm nor deny personal information until they told me why they were calling. They said they would not until I confirmed the information. I then informed them we would never do business and hung up. Have had people attempt to scam using same technique. If they had simply said they were calling about a debt with Company X, I would have worked with them to pay immediately.
