- NotMe| 5 repliesIt shows it is from an insurance company and listing providers in GA. It is a recorded message on voice mail that says it is "an important" call for "your name" and to please return their call. If it's so cotton-pickin iportant then have a person call so I can tell them NO and hang up!!
- Call type: Unwanted
- What??The call is from "medical services." You can give them insurance information or an account number. It's recorded as an important call for "your name" and to return their call. Good luck. I never actually reached a person to clarify the phone call - only a recoding due to their "high volume of calls" at 8:25 p.m. Then I found out they're only open until 3 p.m. CST.

- felly| 2 repliesThis call comes from Medical Services Billing. Their address for all correspondence other than payments is (name of the hospital you owe money to) Medical Services, P.O. Box 24013, Chattanooga, TN 37422-4013, telephone (423) 899-0116.
It appears to me that due to its practice of hiding its identity on caller id, this company is in violation of federal regulations. Specifically, 16 CFR, Section 310.4, part 7(Abusive telemarketing acts or practices), which states: Failing to transmit or cause to be transmitted the telephone number, and, when made available by the telemarketer’s carrier, the name of the telemarketer, to any caller identification service in use by a recipient of a telemarketing call; provided that it shall not be a violation to substitute (for the name and phone number used in, or billed for, making the call) the name of the seller or charitable organization on behalf of which a telemarketing call is placed, and the seller’s or charitable organization’s customer or donor service telephone number, which is answered during regular business hours.
I made a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission.- Caller: Medical Services Billing

- Kelly| 2 repliesI have had a ridiculous amount of these calls -- how do I get them to stop?
- matti just got a call from them
i didn't get to my phone in time, they didn't bother leaving a message... a little bit strange, no?
i actually have been dealing with these people recently, but don't understand why i would've gotten a call but no message from them. - trentRecieved message on my cell to call back with a reference#. - ChuckLeft a message about "Important personal matter" and to call the number back with the reference number provided. Sounds like phishing to me.

- MaryAnnReceived a call from this number (800-737-9140) last evening. Have tried numerous times to call but cannot get through either their automated system or to a person using the reference number provided. It is a legitimate company even though it showed up on my caller ID as "Toll Free Number."
I was able to match it up with two bills I have from a hospital:
Medical Services Billing
P. O. Box 24013
Chattanooga, TN 37422-4013
(423) 899-0116 or (800) 737-9140
Once I realized the bill and this phone number matched up, I called them back using the account number on my bill and still wasn't able to get through the automated system or to an actual person but what really was annoying was that the bill had just been paid and they were calling on the due date. So they may be a collection agency or a billing service agency or both. Difficult to tell when they don't answer their own phone.- Caller: Medical Billing Services

- TS| 1 replyThis is an automated call with "important message" which leaves a refernce number for you if and when you call back. Since I have no idea who or what they want I refuse to attempt contact. They should leave some type of message concerning the purpose of the call.
- Melinda replies to Fritosorry, no - it's Medical Services. Been to a doctor/hospital recently?
- eddie - chicago ilwell i say your lucky! when i answer i dont even get a response! this number has called 6 times at various times of the day and still dont know where its coming from (thanks for the posts, ill check my bills)

- responsible adult| 9 repliesWhen you call the # you should notice on YOUR bill that YOU received from YOUR visit to the doctor all the information you need to pay YOUR responsible fees. I had an emergency room visit that cost over $18K and my total cost on the visit was $300. So I am sure that YOU know if you owe your DR some money. Quit slacking, and pay your bills!

- sigridJust an update that since I called the Shawnee Mission Medical Billing department and informed them of the underhanded practices of the collection agency they are using, I have had no more calls - and I never gave out my phone number to anyone.
So I'd say, don't call the number back, rather call the agency or company they claim to represent and inform them that someone claiming to represent them is harassing you.
and this is for the person signing themselves "responsible adult" up there.
In my case, the person they were trying to reach was not me, they got the number wrong.
My insurance is not affiliated with this place, nor do we even live near there.
These calls to my number were harassment, pure and simple, and I was not about to give out any of my information, much less even answer the phone.
When I owe on a bill, I pay it, plain and simple, do go assuming that everyone is a slacker just because the have a complaint. - being bilkedBeen getting calls for almost 2 years, from a medical practice that went out of business. The owner, who is not an MD., started making up bills and services that no one received, and turned them over to an illegal collection agency that has used several different names. Most of the elderly patients were threatened with bad credit and warrants to get them to pay, and of course, they paid bills they didn't owe. I refused, and now it shows on my credit. I do not care, and now, they call, but hang up when I answer. Since I did the same to them, maybe they think they are bothering me? Tried to turn them in, but they had moved and changed numbers before anyone got to them. Moral of the story: Pay NO bills from this company using this number, or billing out of Chattanooga, TN., unless you check with your doctor/hospital first.

- none-I have been getting calls from this number (800 737 9140) for a few weeks and they leave a messag in spanish! weird huh?
- Anonymous| 2 repliesI keep getting this call early in the morning. They are very persistant. Thing is, I know for a fact this is a scam or something because I am 21 and don't even deal with my medical expenses. My parents take care of that and i never give my cell phone out to any medical service, always the house phone. Who should I report these calls to?
- Caller: Medical Services
- Ron Swenson replies to NotMe| 2 repliesI got a call at 8:45 am central time. The message left on voice mail was in spanish.
- twilliams replies to Ron SwensonThey called my CELL phone and left a message in Spanish. They call at least twice a day and have for the past several days now...it is really annoying!
- christineThey are bill collecters for Park Ridge Hospital in NC. They may be other hospitals and doctors collectors too. They were trying to collect a balance that was already paid in full. If they are calling you Id return the call to get the situation taken care of so it doesnt get forwarded to an actual "collections agency"- I had gotten a bill for an account that was paid in full but disregarded it because I knew it was paid and that was 2 months ago. Park Ridge hospital is notorious for over-charging and trying to collect un-necessary money from patients. I paid $1000 up front for a surgery and 3 months later they still never applied it to my account. Luckily I had check copies where they cashed it and it took me 3+ weeks of calling and getting on them to get someone to take care of it. If I wouldnt have looked into it I would have over-paid them $1,040.00 and would have never gotten my money back. Stay on top of them.
