- Lucky in Florida| 4 repliesI feel lucky to have found this website. My son received a message to call First Source Advantage on a time sensitive matter. We listened to the message several times and the caller gave his name so fast we could not understand him. He gave the same crap information that other people stated in his message to my son.
Needless to say we did not call him after reading what other people went through.
Thanks for your website.- Caller: First Source Advantage

- this is crapwe keep getting calls from asg & first source for a person with same first and last name as my husband, they have different middle initials. THEY ARE NOT RELATED! we received 3 calls last night. this is ridiculous. we don't owe money to anyone and yet a collection agency is harrassing us. even when we've told them time and time again that they are calling the wrong person!

- VickieI'm always getting a recording from First Source Atvantage LLC. They don't give me a ref. #. They just say this is an attempt to collect and to call this number back. 1-866-517-7460. Very rude just to leave a recorded messege and not a real person. What should I do about this?

- faroe47I'm now getting calls from First Source every day, asking how to contact my girlfriend. When I called them, they refused to say who they were or what their line of business is. I'm going to treat them to my AIR HORN next time.

- kendyllJason from first source advantage keeps calling me looking for my dad. I haven't lived with my parents in almost 9 years!!! When I spoke to him I explained he doesn't live here and that I can give him his number, and he told me that he could not change the info without speaking to my dad. The whole time giving me attitude for no reason and telling me that he'd call my dad at work and embarrass him by speaking to his supervisor....Nice tactics! these people are rude and don't pay attention!

- Fed up!I am getting a recorded phone call every day sometimes twice a day. The message says This is so and so from First Sorce Advantage LLc it is very important that you call us back at your earlier convience. But it leaves no name for who the call is for or what the call is about or a ref.# so I will not call back. I am fed up with the calls.

- Schauntahl replies to coalI get calls from this First Source Advantage COmpany for someone that has never lived at my home and we have had this number for a good 5 years. They called 4 months ago and asked for this persona nd I explained that she didn't live here. They called again and I had to explain who I was and how long I had this number and then they refused to tell me who they were. I'm filling a compliant with the BBB on this company.
- Sara replies to bla| 5 repliesYou are wrong. This company is a legal debt collections company licensed in every state. they do not own any accounts, they are hired by creditors to collect. It's legit for them to call and collect for the creditor. I know this because I use to work there.
- Sara replies to Anonym| 1 replyThere waws no law broke. You cannot get a collections agency to stop calling unless it's in writing! And the message is also legal if it's YOUR phone number. it's the law now, quoting the FDCPA on the answering machine of a "good" phone number is now a requirement.
- Sara replies to Lucky in Florida| 3 repliesWhy are you screening calls and trying to figure out messages for YOUR SON? did you teach him to screen calls and not pay his bills? I'm just confused as to why you, as a parent, are commmenting on this and your son who obviously doesn't care if he owes money or not is doing nothing.
- LandlordI keep getting phone calls for this company for a tenant of mine. I tell them that he is unemployed and does not have a phone or cell phone that I am aware of. I refuse to get in the middle of the debt nor will have reply messages and drive 25 miles to tell a tenant to call them. I have called them repeatedly to quit calling my house and the call gets heated when they tell me they will continue to call me until the tenant calls them. I am reporting them today.

- kgI got a call for my ex sister-in-law at my new home number. The voicemail said this message is for so and so please call mrs. cox at 1-800-741-8860 ref # _ _ _ _ _ _ _. Open til 10p
Than the message cut out. - Annoyed| 2 repliesFirst Source calls me on almost a daily basis and leaves the same message each time. It's something like this.....If you have recently received a letter from First Source Advantage LLC, this confidential and important message is meant only for you. If you have not received such a letter you will have 3 seconds to cease listening to this message. (Now for some odd reason my phone will not let me delete the message in the middle, so I end up hearing the rest). It goes on to say something like....This is First Source Advantage, a debt collection agency, any information obtained will be used for that purpose. Please call our offices back today at 1-800-741-8860. They sometimes leave a different number with their message. They don't give a name of who to contact there, they don't leave a ref # and they don't use my name or anyones for that matter.
Now...I have never received a letter from them, nor do I have any debt that I'm not making my regular payments on. I have not called them back nor do I want to. I just want the calls to stop. Any suggestions on what to do? From what I'm read here is seems like I shouldn't even bother calling back. But at the same time I don't want my credit score to drop. Suggestions would be VERY much appreciated.- Caller: First Source Advantage LLC

- MzNeonFirst Source Advantage collecting for Best Buy.
I do owe money to Best Buy and tried to set up payment arrangements before my bill got too high and the minimum balance too much to pay every month. You can call Best Buy customer service which goes to India and no one wants any payment arrangements, only the whole mininum due or it's an automatic refusal to pay OR they won't let you off the phone until you promise to send in SOME TYPE OF PAYMENT, which you can't do, so you've broken all these promise to pays. After 3 months it goes to....you guessed it FSA.
They start calling my house about 7:50 a.m. trying to collect until about 9p.m. at night. I thought the law was 9am-9pm, but whatever. I did try to set up payment arrangements with them when I came into some money this summer. Initial $152 downpayment with $105 monthly payments to follow to show Best Buy I was serious about paying down my debt. "No problem Ms. Thomas, as long as the payments are in by the due date no more late fees. You will still be charged finance charges on the unpaid balance." I thought cool, I owe like $1600, around tax time 2009 I will have the rest to pay them off and be done with this.
Wrong!!! Best Buy continued to charge $35-$40 in finance charges AND $39.99 late fees. When I called FSA, I was told they only accept payments and DO NOT offer any cuts in late fees. My late fees would stop once I cleared up the past due of $289, only problem was my past due was $538!!! They did not even have up to date info on what I owed!! When I questioned why I was continuing to receive bad infomation when I really was attemping to pay off my debt, I was talked over, threatening with chargeoffs, bad credit, etc, then transferred to a manager while convenientely avoiding the question of how are they supposed to help anyone when they lie and aren't even knowledgable about the accounts they handle. They continue to call even they told me over a month ago they were going to charge me off because of my refusal to pay.
Please contact Heather Christie at this company because she really needs a friend. I was told I was pathetic becasue I was 24 and would have bad credit, then hung up on!! I called her back and asked why she was so rude and was told "because I whine and wasn't going to make a payment." I was also told she "doesn't work in Customer Service, she's a Bill Collector and was she was nicer than the people who would be calling me once this account is charged off."
FSA has some nice employees and I am completely aware that I ran a credit card up too high and wasn't able to get caught back up, but I am not someone who screams at people for doing their jobs. I owe money, you are trying to collect. Making false promises, threatening me, hanging up, calling at too early time to be collecting doesn't make me have any more money to pay you.- Caller: First Source Advantage

- A Lawyer replies to SaraNo ma'am you are wrong. They have many pending lawsuits against for illegal collections attempts. In the collection of a debt, you can not threaten jail nor other physical harm to a person. These are the charges and facts proven against this agency.
