Don - 5 Jul 2007Answer phone, and immediately the caller hangs up. Search of number indicates a "financial service", a PaineWebber office, and several UPS shipping offices across the Nation. Very strange. Odds are it is the "financial service" group. Pure junk.

cindy - 4 Apr 2008800-742-5877 appears on my caller ID at least 5-6 times each day. Sometimes it shows up asUPS and sometimes it shows as 'out of area'. I called UPS and they cannot figure it out. Hey UPS how about calling the phone company and letting them know someone else is scamming your phone number, ya think?

cindy - 4 Apr 2008called UPS at 800-742-5877 and reported to them that someone is using their CID to call ppl's homes numerous times per day. They in turn will report this to the UPS Security Department as fradulent actions so anyone receiving calls from this number are suggested to do the same. UPS was extremely nice and thankful for having this reported to them.

Mel - 29 Apr 2008got the call again at work...guess they don't like the greeting I use to answer the phone since they hung up. Unfortunately we don't have caller id here and I have to answer the phone. Wish I could zap them when I *69 them. :o)

nonaii - 8 Jul 2008I'm a small business owner. The phone number is a legitimate UPS number. but that doesn't mean that the caller id information is legitimate (see cindy's post). I called UPS back, they asked if I was expecting a package (I was not), and did a tracking search for my address, and found someone else's order (already delivered) at my address but a different suite number from mine. i said that sounded legitimate, though it had nothing to do with me; and I asked the rep Titus Wortham if UPS places outgoing solicitation phone calls to businesses. The rep (who was very polite and professional) researched and said 'no'. The rep did not know why I would be called, either.
So I followed Cindy's instructions to report the call. The rep issued a message to his supervisor, to call me back within the hour.
