If you don't want Progressive to call you, then pay your bill!! They collect on defaulted student loans. It's amazing how many people think they don't need to pay those back! The government will not keep giving money forever if these lowlifes don't pay them back!!

This number called our place of business inquiring about a person no longer works here. It had been at least a year since they have been employed here. When informed of that, they then wanted to know whether or not I knew where they were currently working or could be reached. We are a huge corporation & cannot keep up with everyone that has worked here at one time or another.

Only self righteous individuals call people they don't know or have no information about low lifes.  Hope you always keep your head above water.

Please do not call my number again 229-379-1186 I am not caryln collar or who ever you asked for but I get enough of my own calls thank you and this is a cell phone.

I paid all my bills.  Never had a student loan.  I am getting calls from them.  I get tired of this crap.  Why don't laws seem to matter here?  Makes me want to have no phone.

They left message for M--- A-----.  "If you are not M A, hang up right now.  If you don't, you are saying you are M A."  I was so flustered, I was pushing Delete, Stop, whatever I could.  I'm still shaking as I write this.  Very intimdating. Did I stop the recording in time?  Who knows.  Never heard of the person.

Yes, this is Progressive Financial- debt collection service. Apparently they collect on student loans. Be sure to call them back because they had my first and last name but they had the wrong person. The woman asked for my social security but I refused to give it to her stating that if she called me she should certainly have that information. Upon giving me the social I stated to her that she had the wrong person. She then stated that she would remove me from the list. So be sure to call to have your name removed if you are not the person they are trying to reach.

Got 3 calls today. Don't have student loan. Don't call again, Pleese.

Computer Voice scrambled announcing some name that is  hard to decipher, then after saying it twice a real human voice comes on saying this is NOT a telemarketing call. If this is Not X_____  X_____ then please hang up.

Like WTF? you are calling my line & answering service. I pay for the privilege of telephone service here. PLEASE STOP CALLING MY HOUSE ! I told one of the callers that he said it was UNACCEPTABLE.

Apparently X______  X_____ at one time owned this home & all the old records indicate that his family still owns land near here.

got a call from them at work but since I was at lunch, didn't answer. Saw the number come up on the caller ID and googled it to find this site. They didn't leave a message and I hope they don't call me back because I've never had a student loan.

Really, Melba?? I've never taken a student loan in my life and they are calling me and insist I owe. Should I still pay my (nonexistent) bill?

Sometimes it's a little more complicated than that.  In which case, you shouldn't be running your mouth off and consequently making yourself look like an idiot.

True, most people do owe money on their student loans (but thanks to that bloodthirsty moron and incompetent immoral slimebag Dictator Bushitler and the criminal gang of lawless thugs America suffered under for eight loooooooong years, you can't blame people for owing money when Bushit caused the economy to collapse -- just like his father did in 1991, except on a smaller scale).

However in my case, I don't actually owe the money for the student loans they're calling about.  Yet every time I explain the situation to one of these collection agents, they're left with no idea what to do about it (except call again and again and harass me, lie to me, and make all sorts of both legal and illegal threats).

Collection agents have a very high turnover rate (because it's a tough job to call and harass people all day).  But the collection agencies still want to collect on money they're owed (or think they're owed, as in my case).  So they'll have a new collector call again in a few weeks and harass me anew, or sell the "debt" to another company -- who will then have someone else who is completely and entirely unfamiliar with my case call and begin harassing me more, lie to me, and make both legal and illegal threats.  In which case I must expend an enormous amount of energy all over again explaining why I don't owe the money they're calling about.

At this point I am simply tired and exasperated of all this nonsense, so if a neophyte collection agent calls now I just tell them to not call back again then read them a short canned legal notice about how it's illegal to call a number you've been given notice not to call and how they'll be held liable to me for $500 for each and every subsequent call they make to me.

I hate these types of calls!  I've gotten these before for people I've never heard of too.

What these collection agency lowlifes are doing is making a ludicrous attempt at trying to get around legal notification laws.  Of course they're not because many people continue listening simply because it's human nature to do something when you're told not to do it (except for you Flotina, you seem to be a rare exception to the rule).  If I say: STOP READING HERE!  DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER!   then the first thing you're going to do is continue reading further.

This is precisely why the attempts of these lazy and reckless collection agencies to skirt the law not only do not work, but in fact are counterproductive and needlessly expose people to publicity of their private information when they're supposed to be keeping it private.

recieved a call from progressive f.  and they threatening if im listen that i must be that person with a count down...ive recieved 15 or more calls all over country with no personal info just trying to get me to tell them it all....they even threaten me to get a lawyer an wait..this is a cell phone with private number..tried of these losers and people like MELBA who thinks they know it all why dont you answer all are calls since it sound like you have nothing better to do!!! what are you doing on this site oh you must be the callers..
