GE Credit services saying it was checking on a transaction?

Credit card security Synchrony Bank. VALID CALLER ... recorded message confirming 3 credit card denials on my card. They requested no information from me (other than my confirming that I was the person they named) only provided me with the dollar amounts of the three failures. The information they provided was correct - I had made three attempts to make an online purchase (small dollar amount) but entered the wrong expiration date (my fault - bad eyesight). I finally figured out my error and successfully completed the transaction. The card issuing company followed up with a email and requested that I contact them immediately if I found the telephone communication to be suspect. I actually found this to be a very good safety measure and one that could prevent a lot of headaches should the card actually have been compromised. Good job on their part.
