Thought I was calling Citicard.  Didn't realize I dialed 1-800 instead of 1-888.  I wasn't really paying attention to how they answered my call.  So I pushed 1 or 0 to be connected to someone and they said I reached the promotions department.  Asked me to give my credit card #.  It all went downhill from there.  Had to end up placing a block on my card, once I realized the mistake I made.  Called back the next day just to see what the recording said this time and now it says that just for calling in you won a trip to the Bahamas.

My wife just did the exact same thing!  Hope nothing bad ever happened.  She cancelled her credit card just to be sure.

I was trying to call Citibank but was mis-dial the first 3 prefix 1-800 (should have dial 1-866) then I got somebody told me I won a $100 gift card that I can use it in any stores and I was feeling great and gives out all my name, address, and my credit card number to charge a handling fee.  Then, I feel uncomfortable when I find this guy keep asking me the same question over and over, my name, my address.  Then, he tell me will charge me $5.95 for handling fee, and later change it for $3.95 will help for energy efficient savings and he was reading a list of information which at the time I know this is not sounds good and gently told him "can I go now? I don't care for the $100 now, I think this is a scam" then, he go on and on to ask me for more info and keep asking about my credit card number and my email address and I thought how can somebody cannot understand me at all and not answer my question if this is legal?  At the end, I have to hung up the phone (after talking with him at least more than 20 min) and I called my credit card to cancel my number!  I feel stupid!  I am sorry what was I thinking?  Freebie?!  Ha!
