Has anyone any idea who this is. They all me asking for Mr or Mrs then my name and start talking about a fradulent contract and anyone affiliated with me better call them ad give a statement etc. No company no name, just scary

is this legit? Are these people going to summons me for something I don't have any information about?

I got a call today from them on my cell phone asking me to call THEM back in regards to a lawsuit or face being supoenaed in court!  They did not even have my name right.  They are just trying to get you to call them back and tell them you are not the person they are looking for, then they will ask for your name for verification, etc just to get your personal information.  Trust me, if you were being supoenaed, they would NOT be calling you on the PHONE to do it!!  It's a scam!

we got the same thing; a call about a fraudulent check from 2004; they refused to provide a copy of the check, and they said they got the number off the check even the phone number was years newer than 2004.  they have apparently created an LLC in Georgia on 4/22/10: Brown, Stein, & Weissman LLC.  I'm with missouri too--no attorney calls you about a subpeona.  If you haven't gotten certified mail, or service by the sheriff's department, it's not legit.

Just got a similar call from this number saying I was guilty of check fraud, and the more I questioned them the angrier and louder the caller got.  I told him I would give him NO information until I could confirm this was a ligit company and not a scam.  He then said I was the scam person, then he said, "you are a joke"...  and I hung up on him.  No ligit company in the world would have such a rude, inappropriate, jerk on the phone.

my husband got a call from say he was guilty of check fraud and if he didnt pay them the money he would go to jail for a year or more and maybe pay i fine of 1000.00. they say this happened in 2000 or so didnt give anyother information and i have been trying to call them and so has our familey but they dont answer all we get is there person that answers the phone and it is a recording and we put in our ext num 105 and it gose to a guy named mike scott.

I got a phone call from 18007813445 saying that I did check fraud and if I don't pay them then they will call the prosecuting attorney's office to issue a warrant for my arrest for check fraud the ext. i was suppose to dial was 105 and talk to a guy named mike scott.

This number 800-781-3445 did this same thing to me...it sounds like Georgia Check Recovery whom I have dealt with before. They threatened to have me arrested for a check that accidentally bounced at a time when my husband was in the hospital for heart related treatment. It is illegal for them to threaten lawsuits or arrest for a civil matter which is what this is. I will try to find the USCode number for all of you so you can report them to your STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL and to GEORGIA STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL and the FTC. What they are doing is wrong and the item they are trying to collect is probably at the end of the statute of limitations for ability to collect.

I have learned a lot about these people because they harrassed my wife and lets just say I am in one of the fields of investigations.  Once I verify the facts and consult with my attoney, I intend to report it to all involved agencies and file a civil suite.  My wife and I have no unpaid debts.  They admitted they had the wrong number and agreed to remove it from their list.  They did not remove it and continued to call.  They provided me with an address.  When I drove to the location, it was a UPS store,  I was able to track them from there.  I am in the process of determining who all of their clients are.  Oh yaek, they also admitted that they did not verify who the phone numeber was listed to prior to making the calls.  I will post agin to help all of you out.  As far as I know the company is legit, but i am concerned about ther tactics causing an innocent person a heart attack or nervous breakdown.

Got a call from the sheriff dept. about a payment arrangment and they was giving me a call to contact Brownstein and Weissman to settle before they have serve me with a warrant for my arrest. my thing is if the court has issue a arrest warrant who in the heck could the sheriff give you a courtesy call telling you to contact someone else. shouldn't they have to serve you regarless.
