Toll free call back number given by 253-683-4810 scam caller.  Beware.

How did they get my number?  fishy - probably a big scam.  Couldn't understand the person talking to me - he was trying to get into my computer to mess things up.

I had a call from this number too. They were pretending to be Microsoft, and wanting to access your PC. Hang up on them, Scam.

1-800-786-0970 the fellow said name his name was Bhuvan ... and he said that my computer wasn't getting it's updates like it was supposed to. He said he wasn't representing Microsoft, but he was working for Microsoft. He couldn't tell me what operating system I was running and that he wasn't supposed to tell me. I knew it was a scam from the beginning because he spoke with a very thick accent, plus, I highly HIGHLY doubt Microsoft would call individuals to tell them their OS wasn't getting updates.

So, I didn't ask enough questions, though I tried to figure out where they were calling from, how did they get the number and how did they find out the computers info. I fell for the scam and went to fixo.it, ran whatever they said and they were controlling my computer, up until they said I need to pay, fill out form and CC info. That's when I was thinking wait a minute you ain't bout to get my money!

Will they still have access to my computers?? Help!

SCAM is right!  Thick accent people calling saying that "the Microsoft error reports are coming to us & we can help you".  When I asked them their company name she said "Compsixo".  This doesn't exist!  I called Microsoft and they said "we would NEVER outsource technical issues without advising our customers".

Ask them to put you on the do not call list as I've received almost 35 calls these past 3 months.

Called with same scam - thick accents - claims "to support Microsoft" and "your computer is not downloading updates - Turn on computer and we will guide you..." oh, yeah! Said they were located in H Houston TX - I asked for their number, gave me this - told him thanks and I would call him back .. he started to object but I hung up and called back to see if I could "catch" who it is... they answered with firm name he'd given "Com Pixel" -wrong number!  BE WISE, folks!

this company is pretending they are related to microsoft

This is a call back number from "Comfixer". They called me from 416 360 1936 and used the name "Mark". He then transferred me to a support department which didn't exist.

They just called me in the middle of supper,told me to start my PC and connect with them  because I have a problem and they can fix it, said they are working with Microsoft (?).I told them I have guests in the house (not) and I couldn't do it .Asked for name and ph. # Compfixo Tech. Support. 800 786 0970 his name was Sean Jones (?) with a heavy Indian and or Pakistany english accent hard to understand. BUT the caller id name on my phone was V10040312550110 and the number 519-973-1867. By the way the DNCL should be called CMAAAAA. Call Me Again And Again And Again...etc etc etc. Hope somebody does something to stop these --€`¥¤£«$”¡«~±€£€.

This is NOT a legitimate company, so I doubt asking them for anything would be useful.

In my case, their number was blocked, but their rep (almost) gave this number as their office. she actually said 800-0786-0970. (Three times). Talk about dense!

But I am concerned for anyone hoodwinked by these scammers.

Giving them permission to remotely access your computer ALSO gives them permission to place whatever malware they want onto your PC!!!  Which means that 3 or 6 months later, you could get the FBI or RCMP breaking down your door saying that your computer was instrumental in a DoS (Denial od Service) attack.

Please ensure that you have proper antivirus software running on your PC at all times.
(Bitdefender, Norton, McCaffy, Kapersky are recommended, but even AVG free or Avast free)

Same kind of call, saying my PC was not receiving updates. Unknown caller on my phone so I asked his name etc. claiming to be with Ceylon-tech, phone 800 786 0970, Matt was his name with an accent, so I am not calling him back.

Symilar story to above - he said his name was "Jack"  but his thick accent sounded much more like the  "Bhuvan" mentioned by Amelia.  Claimed to be from COMFIXO.

Just got a call from a man also with a thick accent (blocked call). I kept telling him I did not feel comfortable giving out any information regarding my two laptops and simply asked him which one was he calling about.  He couldn't answer my question and tried to dismiss my question by asking me to follow some simple instructions so that I could see what he was calling about (regarding some applications that have stopped working according to their reports at Microsoft). He said don't worry, he was not asking for any confidential information.  I went as far as holding down the windows button (on my keyboard) + R, which brought me to the systems configuration screen.  I then clicked on the Services tab.  He asked me to tell him all the programs I have here that show the status as having 'stopped' working.  This was definitely very fishy so I said I did not want to do anything further, but he kept saying don't worry and was very persistent on asking me the same questions above.  I then firmly told him it would be better that I call my employer tech support team instead if there were any issues with my work laptop since it doesn't make sense that Microsoft would be calling my personal phone number regarding my work laptop. He seemed to 'disregard' what I just said and politely asked me once again to tell him which programs stopped working.  After much more resistance, he then said I could call him at 1-800-786-0970 later if I experience any problems in the future such as it shutting down on me.  Beware!!!

They call from ph # 416 361 0877 to inform that your computer is not getting important updates from Microsoft and they want to help, gave there company name as - comtsixo , toll free number 1 800 786 0970 and lady name Hazal - was calling from India.

Got a call from unidentified caller/number.  Claims he has special number to access my computer and he knows that we have not been getting all of our downloads.  Claims he represents Microsoft.  I questioned the unidentified, etc., he said he was calling from a computer. I said well everything was downloaded about an hour ago,  and he said it was about last 2 months!  I asked for a number from Microsoft so I could follow up and got 1-800-786-0970.  He still wanted to give me instructions to follow.  I said no and hung up.

This number is a scam.

Had a call yesterday and today from "Andy", my wife answered the call both times and told him she didn't know anything about any computer problems and he would have to speak to me, but I wasn't available.
So he left his number   800-786-0970  and said he was with  COM FIXO.

Another scammer trying to make a buck.
