I have received 9+ calls per day for the last 3 days from varying numbers, including this one, all asking for people who don't own this phone.  SO ANNOYING!  Where did they get my number?

this number is from the insurance company netquote so if u have recently completed a insurance servey they will call ytou

got two this morning about 10 minutes apart, but didn't answer until alittle while ago, nothing but music, all the way thru the whole call, no names no nothing, just a weird kinda christmas music!
i don't have time for this.

Funny enough, I got a call from Liberty Mutual Insurance saying I had signed-up online to get an insurance quote - which I hadn't - and Liberty was nice enough to tell me I was signed-up through netquote.com

So, now I'm in "can't answer you" - "pretended to try to call but left a message for you" hell with netquote.

course, I'm not a very far drive from denver....

I just got a call from this number today. No message left.

Well I never answer for unknown numbers and this person that called didn't bother to leave a message.  Actually I am with Liberty Mutual, I made the mistake of telling that to someone I purchased furniture from on Craigslist- he was telling me he was an agent with Liberty Mutual- I told him I was insured with them-thought that would be the end of it... but no- he did  a creepy thing and arranged without my consent to be my agent- I called the company and told them to switch me to anyone else but the craigslist stalker- too much creepy factor for me.  They did but the new guy calls all the time from different numbers trying to sell me this or that- car insurance, life insurance etc.  Give it a rest already!  I am looking for a new company- this is just too much for me. I block every number he calls from - yet he still finds a new way to try to make contact.

I got a call from this number, someone trying to direct me to the office of Blake Reeves, a Farmer's Insurance agent in Scottsdale, AZ. I looked him up, he is legit. Apparently, this is a telemarketing outfit that CLAIMS you put in a request for a quote for insurance online and that's why they call you.

HOWEVER, after pressing them, they revealed that it is not necessarily the case that you requested a quote for insurance. They get their lists from a variety of sources, so you may have never requested the quote in the first place, that's just the line they give you on the phone because they're pushing to an insurance office and you MIGHT be interested since they got you off a list that is remotely related to cars/auto stuff.

I don't know who they got their list from, but I have never in my life requested a quote and I got this call twice. I explained this thoroughly and the person who called me the second time did say that they've had this complaint before, that no quote was requested and she thinks it is because the list comes from those multiple sources. I was told they took me off the list and have received no calls since that time.

It might be worthwhile to answer and politely inform them that it's some kind of mistake and ask them to take your number off. Worst that can happen is they will still call. Like I said, you probably never requested a quote in the first place (just like me) but that's just the line they open with.

I think the site they told me about was "quoteme" or something, it was not netquote. Judging from the variety of claims on this number, I'm sure it's a farmed out operation that does calls for a variety of places with (apparently) the same tactics. What a joke.

What is the common denominator here.... Did anyone file bankruptcy?

Not exactly an issue, but someone named "nancy" keeps giving my number to Allstate and this other company - I keep telling them "Nancy" gave them the wrong number, I've had this number for 5 years! They just keep calling...

I gotta figure out who Nancy is and teach her how to type.

I answered one time and it was allstate calling me back for my quote on auto insurance that I had requested, however I never did request this and I told them so.  I've gotten several calls like this including a dealership calling me with the quote I requested on a new vehicle.  The only place I gave my number to was the DMV when I renewed my tags.  I think they are the ones who sold my number.  What a coincidence that both calls have to do with vehicles!

I filled out a Publisher's Clearing House entry online the other day when I was bored... that's the only thing I can think of recently.

I believe this is Dan Skarda Boulder Farmers Insurance and he is getting our numbers from a head hunter in Denver.  Are any of you job hunting and did you send your resume to a job placement company recently?

800-795-2886 calls my cell phone - since very few people know my number - I never answer the unknown caller -

What a job, having To "Cold Call"  all day - I wonder what kind of batting average they have. Most people I suspect are like me, 1. They comtiplate buying something. 2. Go on line and shop around get a price range. 3. Study consumer's report (online if I need to) 4. I can't  remember of buying anything of substance with some outside study. I may make some bad purchases, but they are educated "Bad Purchases"

I'm almost sure he's the guy who called me - my long time agent retired - i'll probably talk to somebody in Rotary or at Church

getting call from this "unknown user" and why I like T-Mobile because I can block on my phone. This is an insurance company that wants you to buy their insurance.  The phone number is 800-795-2886. I don't answer unknown user phone calls!
