CAlled about filing a civil lawsuit

I got one of these too, did you find out what agency or entity they are reporting to?  Also curious if they mentioned a state.

Called a relative in another state for me leaving a supposed civil case number and stating it was the appelate court....their name is SRS and Associates and are a collection agency.

You probably got a call from Donald Kaplan, they are not a law firm, they do not practice law, they are a Lowly Collection Agency, and a pretty nasty one at that. There is no law suit, they are liars.

I just rec'd such a call from an obvious African American Male (I am also African American, married to a Jewish Man) who stated that his name was Thomas Schwartz.  He stated that he was calling me so that I would not be blind-sided by the Civil Case that is pending against me.  My first clue was the CALL CENTER noise in the background, and the reflection in his voice with regards to certain words.  I am glad that I found this site to see what this call was all about.

I so calle David Goldstein said I was being suited against a Mellanie Johnson. When they asked me if I knew her and I said no, they said wwe will take you of the "list." and hung up, I might go to the cops.

Yeah i got the same David Goldstein call too... but I KNOW A DAVID GOLDSTEIN so it was kinda weird. Until I found this site, I thought it was him playing a prank on me.

What do they want? Is this a hoax?

Received same call message from david Goldstein regarding "business I'm already conducting".  Spoke with a Luara originally who refused to give their address or anything in writing and I have reported them to the FTC, who stated they have broken at least two laws, the first by calling and discussing personal information with a second non-interested party, and secondly for representing themselves as a law firm and stating there was a law suit.

I suggest you do the same, as it is the only way to shut people like this down.  They are called "rogue collection agencies" and purchase old debt that is beyond the statute of limitations on collecting, or are so old they don't exist anymore, and use illegal tactics to try and collect.

Go to the FTC site and research, it has all of the information there.

i received somewhat of the same type of phone call. Do they really serve you with court papers and things of that sort? I mean i was tryin to give them their payment ASAP, but the dont even HAVE AN ADDRESS?? what kind of company is this?

got call from my x telling me that I was gonna be served papers for court with docket #  I called and was told it was for a cival law suit against me for a mastercard debt but couldnt tell me any thing eles

Call the FTC, report the call and set up a file, first, they cannot discuss any type of personal information with a seond party, x or not, secondly, they cannot threaten with any type of suit without providing written communication to you and an address as point of contact for reponse from you.  My calls have begun once again, and I just keep adding to the file.

They collect for My Cash Now,a payday loan company.

I just got a call from a Donna Fox from 1-800-801-0065 SRS Associates saying they were filing a civil law suit on my husband for what i believe a payday loan we defaulted on.. I mean its just a debt no body has ever went to jail for this.. what are these people thinking were stupid or some thing.. i mean come on you go to google type in the number and then you see others who got the same calls...oh well!!!!!

Hello, Friday the 30 of Jan I got a call from a Ronald Greenberg from SRS he called from 1800-801-0065. He keep saying they are going to file a civil law suit against me for a paydayloan. He also got bold enough to call my supervisor regarding the matter. If he calls again I'm going to report him to my Attorney I'm sick of it that's harrasment I think.  He just called again!!!

I got a message on my VM from Frank Shapiro from SRS and Associates, he sounded freaking insane, he was yelling into the phone, the message in the beginning was directed to me, then he stated it was regarding someone else. He said he wanted to give all parties involved proper notification so they weren't blindsided from upcoming events..pending civil suit. He said to call him back at 800-801-0065. If this guy calls me again I'll report him to the FTC.

Gave my name and someone elses. Said he did not want me to be blindsided by some events! This guy was ridiculous. He left a phone number of 1-800-801-0065 and a case number! His name was Frank Shapiro.

Got a voicemail of a recording from a David Greckline of SRS & Associates. The message was very short, "This is not a sales call, this is regarding business you are currently conducting". He left a phone # which is the same one that showed up on my caller ID: 1-800-801-0065. Who are these people??

Calls my teenage son's cell phone almost daily leaves messages stating it is in regard to business he is currebtly conducting

I received a call from this company too regarding a debt I owed to Bank of America.  I told them to screw off and hung up.  They said similar things 2 me and I forgot about it. About 2 months later I was served and didnt appear to court and a judgment was entered against me and now I am being garnished.  Help, can I stop the garnishment??? Can they keep taking money out??? I have 5 kids and my husband is disabled and I cant afford to be garnished.  Thats $200 A WEEK THAT COULD GO TO FOOD.  Stop the crap these people take from the poor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this place does steal from poor people. I got sued but after they called me and told me there name and than i got summons but wasnt SRS it was different name and I think was the bank i owed it was some other name than i found out this company who sued me was a company who bought debt from original bank and they sued me through srs assoshiates. i live in virginia and i am being garnished too. The court was 5 months ago and i got money missin from chek. i went to my human resources and they notifed by this other company that i it is real and i cant do nothin but file bankrupsee to get out and stop the money comin out.  those dumb people should be ashamed and shot for bein alloued to do this thing. i am 65 years old and work part time 3 day week.
