I keep getting this call from a voice activated service with a code ext that I need to call its important they did not state who they are where they are calling from and why they are calling ahhh!! how frustrating how rude

Hello, I got two messages from 1-800-809-5850 saying it's important to call back. But when I called back this morning, a woman answered the phone very impatiently, which really make me unhappy. So I hang up. I still don't know who they are and why they call. It really annoys me. Please post if you have similiar experience or advise me what to do. Thank you!

Are you being hounded by a collection agency? I

I got this call at work with an extension number for me to call back immediatley. I assume that it is from a collection agency. I am currrently on a debt management proposal and this is an aggressive tactic I have experienced from these types of collectors before. When you talk to them they have to identify which company they are with as well as who they are and how they can be contacted.

Thank you very much for your advice. I think they got the wrong person. I called my telephone provider and was told someone used the same number before.

This is a collection agency called Collectcorp.  I would advise you to read up on the BPCPA (Business Practices and Consumer Protection Authority) as I have found they break some of the laws (as do all agencies) stated within.

This company's name is Collect Corp. They have a polite employee by the name of Grace extension # 4821. They're trying to collect money from Royal LePage. It's a company that does'nt seem to pay it's bills.I search the following web site; http://www.budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/collect_corp.htm

I'm a receptionist and I have been getting calls for one week looking for one of my co-workers. He sounded very assertive and aggressive. My co-worker is on temporary leave of absence. So I told him that I can get his message. He drops the phone which was rude. He called numerous times for one week. So I assumed it was very important; but if it was very important then he should've left a message or knew my co-worker's cell number. So yesterday, he phoned again, he asked me when my co-worker is coming back. I said 'I don't know, but I can get your message so I can relay it to him". He told me "He works there and you don't know when he's coming in." So I replied back "No, I don't know when he's coming in. Can I get your name and number?". He did not give me anything and told me "I need to know what time he's coming in. So I know when I can expect him calling back." And drop the phone again. Today, he phoned again and left me his name which is Daniel Smith and his number 1-800-809-5850 ext 4831. I asked him right away "From what company?" and he replied "that's the message."

Receiving calls for Michael.. There is no Michael here. This number is on the
 DONOTCALL LIST.  Will begin legal action with FCC if not stopped.

We have also has phone calls from Daniel Smith from collectcorp.  He uses aggressive scare tactics on the phone and is rude.  we are working with the co. that we owe the debt too, but this guy still calls even though it is taken care of.  and the co. we are working paying back has said to ignore all calls from him but he still continues to call and seems to think he should get a piece of what we owe.  This guy is really bad news and don't give him any personal information, he won't leave you alone.

Is this a legitimate collection company? Is there anyway for me to pay directly to Amex instead of these people? Cause they are rude and are harrassing me at work. I told Mrs Shaw that if she continues to call me at work she will get me fired and then will never see a dime.

Just a message to "frustrated"...i am dealing with the same thing.  I contacted AMEX and told them that I will not be dealing with this collection agency and will make my payments directly to amex.  The amex csr said that that was not a problem but he can't guarantee that the collection agency will stop hounding me because amex does not report payments to them.  Read your rights...if you tell them that they are not allowed phoning you, and that it is harassment, legally they have to stop.

This number belongs to a collection agency by the name of Collectcorp.  Their clients include CIBC, RBC, TD Bank, and BMO among others, but this number corresponds to their AMEX department.  If you are getting a call from this number it will be regarding your overdue American Express account.    

On another note, they DO NOT legally have to stop calling you!  They are entitle under the collection laws of Ontario to call you three times in a seven day period.  The calls will only stop if you pay them, file for bankruptcy, or obtain a lawyer to represent you (which is costly).

Stop worrying about others and keep on top of your business. The skepticism is not warranted and people shouldn't have to hound you for money you contractually owe. Stop digging for stalls and excuses and keep on top of your finances. Help yourself and your future and stop worrying about what other people are doing.

I got two messages from 1-800-809-5850 asking me to call back. I just deleted them. The caller said he was Deen and his extension was 3822.

I've got a phone from these people re the file that they said they have on my wife. We received some letters before, that we returned to sender, adressed to the other person; her first and last name is slavic as well as my wife's. The difference is like Smith and Robinson. So I assume these people do not have brains whatsoever.

Got this voice mail on my home phone the other morning from someone looking for a Marvin Esler and it was very important that Marvin gets a hold of them regarding this very important matter or legal actions will have to be enforced.

I just phoned this morning (Oct. 1 / 2009) just to let them know that Marvin Esler is not at the phone number that they were trying to contact. They asked me for my home phone number and I would not give it to them. I told them to look up their "file" associated with the name Marvin Esler and you tell me the number that shows up in your file. She could not tell me and was insistent the only way to check was by my phone number. At that point I started getting a little frustrated and she was like “I don’t know why you are getting upset with me……” your kidding right? Anyway, I said well if you are suppose to get in contact with this idiot he is not at the number you are trying to call and hung up on her.

I don’t believe the only way they can search there “hundreds” of files is by a phone number????

Same as above. Rude and aggressive collection agency who will harass anyone they can in order to get results. Ignore them and read about your rights in these situations.
