They (a man identifying himself as "Mr Jones") just called me tonight, here on the West coast and left a recorded message. This comes after previous recorded message calls regarding some loan or "fraud charge" involving someone who doesn't even live at my residence. When I called the number back to explain this, I was verbally assured by a woman who answered that my number was "removed from their files." Obviously not true. I'm getting real tired of this crap and am going to look into ways to put a stop to it.

These people just left a message on my parents answering machine (I havent lived with in over a decade) and identified himself as Investigator Scott from Staley and Lawhorn regarding a possible service warrant regarding a deposit account fraud issue. Um yeah OK.

I forgot to add that the number they called from 678-304-6804. Supposedly this a business located in the Atlanta, Georgia area.

I received a call from this Scott guy as well and I was dumb enough to fall for it....I gave him my credit card info but when I realized it was a scam I cancelled my credit card. Then recently I received a supposed call from my local courthouse stating they were issuing a warrant for my arrest over this, so I then being suspicious called a Sargent at the Sheriff's office who informed me not to pay these people it is a fraud and there is no warrant for my arrest. The worst part about this is, the number they called from stating there was a warrant was my local courthouse number. The sargent is stumped as to how they could have done this.

I looked them up and it's through a prepaid tollfree cellphone carrier - ringback.com. I called "Investigator James Harvey" back and he answered but was using a different name this time and hung up on me after I told him he was being recorded and that I wanted to know what their business does and that I can read him a website about their fraud and scams.
                                    I guess they are not a professional business, and their business was not very important.

I recieved a call from this place today, they claimed i commited check fraud and was gonna get a service warrent issed in my state of residence. The call back number was 1-800-672-5610 i didn't recieve a live person but" Investigator David Mahoney" was the one who called me. I don't even use checks i mean not many ppl do anymore. what a crock!!!!

This place left a message on my home answering machine. It said that there was going to be a service warrent  issued for me and that I created deposit fraud. Then I went to work the following day and was advised that this company Staley Lawhorn called and said I needed to respond by the close of the business day. I have know idea how they found out my work number because I am a contractor through a little agency but work at a huge auto manufacturer and they called the little agency. 1-800-672-5610 ext 108.

This number 404-806-9534 called and stated his name was Investigator Harvey amd he was an investigator for Stanley Lawhorn and that they where going to issue a possible service warrant in my state. The call back number that he left was 8006725610 ext 107. I'm not sure but it seems as tho it is a scam. The bad thing about it is I am a police officer and will be checking into this more and hopefully be able to determine who these people are.

I was reading your blog and was wondering if you had found anything out about this 'Stanley Lawhorn' company.  I'm doing some research too, but was wondering if you had run across any more information.  Thank you for your time.

I've been receiving calls from the number 800 672 5610 from an Investigator David Mahoney stating that if I didn't settle this debt that I had agreed to pay, that I would be paid a visit by the county sheriff's dept and they would be hauling my fraud committing body to jail. I'd also like to mention that the county they claimed I lived in, is NOT where I live.  I tried to get him to give me some specifics as to what he was calling about and he laughed and said, good luck trying to get out of this Ms. XXXX, looks like you're going to jail.....and hung up on me.

I received a call from this number and the guy (forgot his name) said he was calling from Staley lawhorn and that if I didn't call him back by the end of the service date they would be issuing a service warrant in my state.  the number he called from/call back number is 678-359-3586.  He said it was for check fraud.  I did default on a payday loan and the company that sold it told me the threatening calls are illegal, but they use any way to get money.  I believe they are a 3rd party collection agency and are trying to get their money they bought the debt for back.  However, if you pay them, then they dont stop calling and they sell to the next company and then you start all over.  has anyone heard back from them since their initial contact with them.  I know I am not calling them back.  I check my county regularly to see if there is any warrant and have never found anything.  I know there is a spoof card that you can type in any number to show up on the caller id so this could be what they are using to make it seem as though they are calling from the sheriffs office.  but sheriffs offices don't call to tell you there is a warrant...they just go serve you or pick you up.

I received a call today from a very demanding male that stated his name was David Mahone. He said I failed to pay back a payday loan from CashNet and that I was going to be proscuted for check fraud. I asked him to please send me the documents that I signed and that I would make arrangements to clear up the outstanding balance. He stated  I had been given plenty of opportunity to do so and that the police would be knocking on my door.  I was paniced, I called Cashnet, who confirmed that I never took a loan out and that these calls are FRAUD. Let me tell you I was ready to pay them, that is how scared they made me.

why didnt you pay them back.... they wouldnt get your information from anywhere

I just got a call from Ms. Lopez @ 678-304-6804 and she was with Stanley Lawhorn. She said she was to find out some information. When I did not give her any info she hung up one me. I called back and she answered and as we talked I told her that I was not related to who she was looking for and she hung up very rudely. I just could not let it go. When I called back again, a man answered and said she RAN to the restroom. He was just as rude. He told me I did not have a life and had nothing to do but call. This is not the case, I wanted to request that my number be removed from their records. I asked him if I needed to call the BBB, but he insulted me again. Their company interrupted my home and I was kind enough to answer a few questions. Kindness matters litter in debt collection business. If they work with theh investigations dept, they whould be properly trained on how to handle a call to person's home who is disabled and ill. Let me make this clear, I don't even live in Georgia and I did not know who they were looking for, worng number!!!!!!!

Got a call from an Investigator Stewart at Stanley Lawhorn claiming they were about to process a service warrant for account fraud.  Left # 404-806-9534 as a call back number.

I just recieved a call today from 404-889-8763 from a man by the name of Investigator David Mahone saying that he was investigating a case about something having to do with my bank account. I was nice and took down the call back number which is 1-800-672-5610 X 109, but what was odd about this call and what got me looking into the whole thing is that I don't have a bank account, and haven't had one for over 3 years now. He didn't give me any information other than this and I was just a little suspicous. I'm glad I looked into this, and it's ridiculous that they have to call people scaring them, and even sometimes getting what they want...stealing peoples money! Obviously they are the ones who don't have a life, and have nothing better to do than call people and scam them!

I got a phone call from 404-537-3117 and so did my relatives. They scared me to death. Warrant for my arrest at local county for deposit account fraud and paper check payday loan was doing whatever it takes to prosecute me. They threatened me with lots of other stuff. I called paper check payday loan and they said this was a scam. They gave me the name of the company they sold my loan to and I contacted them to settle up my account. This Stanley or Staley Lawhorn has to be fake. I am contacting a lawyer and local law enforcement and whoever I can to stop these people.

You just hush...pay them your money! Why would someone pay for something that they didn't borrow?

I received a call from someone named cynthia jacobs from this so called lawfirm. well i called the firm and there is noone there by that name. These people are scam artists. PLEASE dont fall for their trap. They make it seem as if they are legit but they are not. she left 2 numbers to be reached at. (888)999-5510 ext.112. the other is 800-672-5610. anyone can set a fony voicemail and make it seem real. also when i called after hours, the answering service said i could speak to the manager. what real lawfirm says that!!!. what these people do is check to see what names from lawfirms that they can use and go with that.
