In past few months, this scammer called my regular and cell phone several times – but hung up on me when I asked questions about their company.  Today I received a mail from them.  Yes, my name and address is correct.  The mail was sent from St. Louis, MO, Permit No. 5641.  If this is a fraudulent company, maybe we should contact the US Postal Inspector and file a complaint against them.  Hmm, maybe class action lawsuit????  Any lawyers there who would like to make a case out this????

1-800-816-1204 = SCAMMER Fake Warranty company! Has called my home phone, my cell phone, and today received a letter in the mail. These people are idiots. On the letter, it says MAKE: Registered Vehicle. They have NO clue what vehicle to try and sell me a fake warranty on. We're talking a real class act company. Anytime they call me, I start asking questions about their company, and they hang up. The letter they sent me looks almost exactly like a Water/Gas bill. I WILL be filing a greivance with the BBB, as well as the State Attorney General's office in Missouri. The scam company is: EWC, 6055 Mexico Road, St. Peters, MO 63376, Office: 636-720-1886, Fax: 1-636-720-1881  Seems someone is ticked off about them and even made a webpage in regards to this scam company: http://www.geocities.com/extwarrantycorp/  - If you get anything from them, be sure to report it to the US Postal Service, the Attorney Generals office of Missouri, as well as the Attorney Generals office in your state, and the BBB. Be sure to visit: http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/445/RipOff0445727.htm   as well.

Like others here I received the official looking mail piece from EWC. I was suspicious about this before I even opened it so I googled the return address and came up immediately with a bunch of complaints on sites such as this one I am posting on now. I opened it and it was an offer for extended warranty on my car (I have 3 cars that were all bought used and are very old). In the mail piece the make of my car was listed as "Registered Vehicle" but none of my cars were made by the Registered Vehicle Motor Company -- yeah, you've heard of them! They're in Detroit I think. I made copies of the mail and sent the original along with a US Postal Service Form PS1500 to the proper USPS office in order to obtain a Prohibitory Order that makes it a felony under 39 USC 3008 for EWC to send me any further mail. For more info on form PS1500 just google it and don't be concerned about the "pandering advertisement" aspect of the implied intent of this form because the nature of the mail piece is determined solely by you, the recipient, and therefore you cannot be denied the prohibitory order as long as the mail piece offers something for sale and you fill out form PS1500 properly. It is a simple 1 page form. Judges in test cases have ruled that the recipient retains the right of sole discretion regarding what is considered a "pandering or sexually provocative advertisement". One judge went so far as to say this law is an effective tool for stopping junk mail and one of the few tools available for this wasteful practice. I get practically no junk mail and when I do I stop it with a prohibitory order. Sometimes the mailer continues to send me mail. These are usually big corporations (banks, etc.) and they have no system for easily removing people from their mailing lists. After the 3rd complaint from anyone with a prohibitory order, USPS obtains a court order against the company. Then they stop sending me mail. Most companies stop after the first complaint, so it is very effective for stopping junk mail. I will also be sending a complaint (or filing online) to the Missouri State and my state's Attorneys General.

I bought a used 1996 vehicle from a private party.  Since then I have gotten a couple of calls and a couple pieces of mail offering to reinstate the expired bumper to bumper warranty coverage for my vehicle.  I'm supposed to call them and provide my exact mileage and VIN.  One of the phone numbers is 800-816-1204.  The identification they provide on their mailing is "Extended Warranty Corp. / 6055 Mexico Rd / St. Peters, MO 63376" and their phone number.  The card was mailed using "St. Louis MO Permit #5641."  It also says "Extended Warranty Corp. is not affiliated with any dealer or manufacturer. / License Number: PO85188."
