Harassing call. Obviously a call center from all the background noise. Would only answer questions with questions. Poor English (male).

Extremely rude and harassing.  Yelled at me until I finally hung up on them.

This call is from a collection agency, whose name is below.  The person that I spoke with goes by the name of Vincent Foster, on behalf of Michael Owens.  As an agent of the organization, Foster prides himself for not having to have professional skills, as he is "not [a] customer service [personnel]."

To "extremely rude" and "harrassing" I would like to add "ridiculously unreasonable."

This is not a collection agency, rather a phony company pretending to be a collection agency, and they make phony calls with a machine generated voice to get responses and sell the numbers to other spamming companies, i'm getting 3 or 4 phone calls from the same company supposabley looking for 4 different people, with the weirdest names possible

left a message for my husband (asked for him using his name)...said he was about to render a decision in a case involving him and needed his imput...left a call back number and extension along with a reference number. there was a lot of noise in the background and the person referred to himself as mr. mayo

"R.E.Cullin" calls, ext. 3304, gives file number and says he wants "my side of the story" and to call him back.  Right.  Fat chance.  Harassing and annoying.  Maybe collector?

Debt collectors. Called looking for a relative. Cagey -- they "have her file her and are processing her papers". Also gave company names as MRS Associates.

this debt collector clearly broke the law by giving out personal information about your relative to a third-party.  your relative has several recourses. he or she can file complaints with the state attorney general, the federal trade commission, the attorney general of the state in which the debt collector is located and the better business bureau. he or she can also sue the debt collector for violating the fdcpa.  just google the phrase 'sue debt collectors' for a long list of attorneys who specialize in this area.

Caller ask for my 74 year old mother and acts like that matter is of utmost importance and needs to speak with her about a personal business matter. I said, she is not here. Would you like to leave a message. She says that her name is Gail Green, probably not her real name. And gives the phone number. 1-800-819-8567 X3315. She then proceeds to tell me that she has to make a final decision today. So I should make sure that she calls her back. With a little questioning. I find out that she is a debt collector. And she is trying to collect a debt for a car that my brother bought new several years ago and only had for two weeks. He was rear ended at an intersection by a under aged, unlicensed girl. The insurance companies (her parents insurance and my brothers allstate and Mercury Gap insurance) were suposed to write it off. It was totaled. Well they have been harssing my mother for about 5 years now. Oh yea, for about $800 measly dollars. Can you believe that?

If they are calling or writing you about a debt. Write to them and tell them to cease the communications with you, and the must do so.

Below is an excerpt from the Federal Fair collection law.

Section 805(c) -- Ceasing collection calls and communication

Once debt collection agents receive written notice from a consumer that he or she refuses to pay the debt or wants the collection agent to stop further collection efforts, the agent must cease any further communication with the consumer except

"(1) to advise the consumer that the debt collection agency's further efforts are being terminated;

(2) to notify the consumer that the debt collection agency or creditor may invoke specified remedies which are ordinarily invoked by such debt collection agency or creditor; or

(3) where applicable, to notify the consumer that the debt collection agency or creditor intends to invoke a specified remedy."

1. Communicating
For purposes of this section, the term "communicate" is given its commonly accepted meaning and includes phone calls and messages. Thus, the section applies to contacts with the consumer related to the collection of the debt, whether or not the debt is specifically mentioned. [53 Fed. Reg. 50104]

2. Request for payment.
When responding to a "cease communication" notice from you they may not include a demand for payment! Their response is limited to the three statutory exceptions outlined above.

if you go to the make a payment they want you to send money via western union which is usually what scam artists on the internet like to use to receive payment for things they never send, etc.  Anyone know if these guys are even real or just a scam site/scam call?

I too have been harassed by " Mr. Vincent Foster."  He is sooooooo rude!! He cuts you off at every sentence, bickers back and forth about nothing and makes no reasonable attempts to resolve anything.  He also refuses to let you speak with anyone else.

I keep getting phone calls from this agency MRS Associates. The guy that calls asks for someone and i tell him he has the wrong number and then insists that he spoke to this person on this number before. I tell him i have had this number for a couple of weeks now and people do change their number and he is still rude and obnoxious until i hang up on him. He is a male that can barely speak english. When i try and call back the number that calls me it says not in service. Its a different number all the time.

This company is one of the worst.  To my knowledge, they have dozens of numbers from which they'll call people from.  Have sent a cease and desist letter - if that doesn't work, the next option is to take the time to fill out a complaint with you state attorney generals office; alledge fraufulent, deceptive and illegal collection practices.  That should do it.

Following an extensive illness by my spouse, we got 2 weeks behind on payments to WFS Financial (NOW Wachovia Dealer Services). Now, I thought WFS was not only rude but MSR surpassed them. WFS told us on a Friday, we had until the following Wednesday to pay the 1/2 month payment (2 weeks) from prior month and the currrent month to prevent repossession. We were able to obtain the funds and were prepared to pay them when a tow truck showed up at our house on Monday Night (2am) and towed our new vehicle away. Thene they sold it at an AUCTION and claimed we owed $10,000 balance. That was June of last year. MRS stepped in and started calling us about a month ago threatening me (I am not even on the loan) and went on to say they would probably do a force sale of our home to get the money. This is that "guy" that everyone seems to be talking to. Since I refused to set up a payment plan with him, he marked our file as "refussal to cooperate" and said I would probably be hearing from their attorneys about their forcing the sale of our home.
This rude man went so far to tell me that since I was married to my husband, I was responsible for all his debts (FOREVER!).

800-819-8567 called me, and when I called back, they asked for my social security number!  My response, "NO"!  Wow, I just looked this up, whew!

Here is another toll-free phone number for Mrs Associates in Cherry Hill, N.J. They use multiple numbers which you will see online in many complaint forums. This is the third one I have posted. If you have time, call these numbers repeatedly and wait for an answer and then hang up. The company has to pay for all incoming calls. They do it to us as a form of entertainment.
