- Me| 76 repliesThis is a legitimate debt collector. They are First National Collection Bureau. They purchase debts from other companies and collect the money for that debt. If you talk with their representatives, you will be able to find out what and when the debt is from.

- 800-824-6191| 1 replyI would get more information about the supposed debt you owe them. This "legit" agency has a class action suit against them for fraud. Get more information about your debt, the amount the orignating source of the debt and look further into it.
Its very easy for a collector to call on a debt that has already been paid off. Take the time and make the effort to cover your rights.- Caller: FNCB

- Stacey| 2 repliesThey called my Mothers phone number to ask for me. I had never heard of them but they had my social security number and other pertinent information. When I told them I didn't know anything about this debt the woman started screaming at me! I hung up.

- WGGot numerous messages, both computerized voices and real people at least 4 times, to call this number in regards to collection of a debt. So I looked up the number here and decided to call. They acknowledged that they were First National Collection Bureau, they asked for my phone number, I was reluctant to provide but finally did, and then they told me any information gathered in the phone call could be used to help collect the debt and read me the last 4 digits of a social security number which was not mine. They responded that they probably had the wrong person and hung up.

- Relative of debtor| 3 repliesAm continually receiving recorded and voice calls from a First National Collection Bureau for a person who is a distant relative. They will not accept my stating I am not that person nor know of their personal life. I contacted relative who states that this was a debt made in the early 90s which the company refused to accept payments and wrote off. It just seems that I am unfortunate to have the same last name.

- Not Me| 1 replyHave been receiving calls from FNCB (comes over the caller ID as "unknown"). They are calling for someone I do not know and who does not live here. I've filed a complaint with the FCC as I do not owe this company money. Their calls are now telemarketing as far as I'm concerned. Every time they call I will file a complaint with the FCC (form 475). Maybe they'll get the hint after a few dozen complaints and hopefully someone at the FCC will tell them to get their information straight.

- Recordings...| 1 replyA recording from 775-322-0444 came through the switchboard at work. As always, it was half-way through the message, provided a different call-back number [800-824-6191] from the one they called in from. It was a male's voice. It stated it was from FNB (the "C" was not stated).
Refer to notes on 775-322-0444 for more info.- Caller: FNB
- LIARS replies to Me| 63 repliesFNCB is another fraudulent debt thug collector. They were probably listed under another company name, as well as another mailing address (I have found 3 different Reno NV addresses for this company so far) If you get a phone call from these people, do not let them speak. Tell them that you will deal with the debtor directly, and then advise them to stop calling you. I have done this, and they still CONTINUE to call. I have reported them to the FTC and donotcall.gov website. I have advised them that I have done this, and they STILL CONTINUE to call my house. I implore everyone that have been harassed by these people to continue to report them to the FTC and donotcall.gov agencies. I cannot determine whether they are REALLY in Nevada or not, so reporting their activities to the local Nevada authorities may not be of any use.
- AlfalfaONE lawsuit after the other has been filed against them. I WONDER WHY??:

- Mark R| 2 repliesThey constantly call me asking for some guy named “Chris”, I don’t know why he is associated with my cell phone number that I have had for over 5 years. I asked many times for them to stop calling me because they have the wrong number but they continue to call anyways. Today they called 4 times and I cussed them out with everything I had. Does anybody out there know how to get these people to quit harassing me? I AM NOT THE PERSON THEY ARE LOOKING FOR!!

- Nic OKC| 2 repliesThey call me over 11 times a day! Now they've got my work number and leave 4-5 messages every single night! This is so ridiculous!
- D replies to LIARS| 58 repliesFNCB is very real, and they take their debt collecting very seriously. I worked there for 2 years, and had to leave because of health reasons, or I would still be there, calling people like 'LIARS' that avoid their debt, and run from it. They don't have to stop calling you just because you say to, and they don't go by the "do not call rules". And they are located in NV., there used to be two different locations at the same time, one was a training center and the other was the main calling center, till they made alot of money, and built a brand new building in McCarran, Nv. between Reno, and Fernley...so yes they are real, and yes they won't stop, no reporting will stop this multi-million dollar from collecting from dead beat debtors.
- Anonym| 10 repliesThis company calls me every bloody da yand I only owe $70.00 from 8 yrs ago. They harrase you to know end. They are blood sucking animals who sold thier souls to this God forsaken company. I feel very sorry for their familys.
- nunya replies to Anonym| 9 repliesIf you owe such a little balance then just pay it. Then the calls would stop. If people would just realize that you spent/borrowed money that you need to pay. If you cant do the entire amount then split into two. Then the calls would stop. These people are just doing a job that wouldn't be needed if YOU PEOPLE would just pay your bills.
- Yes they will stop replies to D| 8 repliesSorry dumbass collector but these agencies cannot call you anymore if they recieve a cease and desist letter. A good free example of this letter is available from budhibbs.com. Send it by certified mail and keep a copy. Dont bother with the Do Not Call list or the FTC because your govt has allowed these scumbags to be exempt from those laws. But once you send the required letter then the FDCPA law applies and they must stop calling or you can sue them. This is the info the collectors dont want you to know. Use it to your advantage. The more people that learn the truth and act on it, the sooner they will all be outta business!
- Numbskull replies to nunya| 4 repliesThere are laws such as Bankruptcy and the statute of limitations which prevent certain debts from being collected. Collection agencies dont seem to understand these laws or they just ignore them in their relentless pursuit of profit. But these same agencies are very critical of the FDCPA which is a law enacted to protect potential debtors from harassment by the very scumbags such as you. You cant pick and choose the laws you like, all of them are the law. So stop calling people to collect on debts you know or should know are uncollectible or you have no ability to prove.
- CONFUSEDI received a call from this company. They would not give me any information regarding this supposed debt from 8 yrs ago. They told me that due to Medical laws, they were unable to release the information. Why would I pay a bill without hearing why I owe this money?? I was on the phone with them for about 2 hrs. I kept getting hung up on and transfered. No one could give me any helpful information. I was calling to settle my debt, but why would any sane person pay these people without them being able to provide you with any dicumentation. I intend to call the Attorney General and put in a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

- Alfalfa| 3 repliesThey obviously have HIPPA laws confused with FTC laws....
Send them a Cease Communication letter and DEMAND that they validate the debt they are calling you about. By law, they HAVE to validate it before they collect anything. NO VALIDATION, NO MONEY. It's that simple. Send it VIA Certified Mail and request a return receipt. Keep copies of everything!

Dear {insert name of collector or company},
I am writing in response to your (letter or phone call) dated {insert date}, (copy enclosed) because I do not believe I owe what you say I owe.
This is the first I've heard from you, or any other company on this matter therefore, in accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Section 809(b): Validating Debts:
(b) If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection (a) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or any copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt collector.
I respectfully request that you provide me with the following information:
(1) the amount of the debt;
(2) the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;
(3) Provide a verification or copy of any judgment (if applicable);
(4) Proof that you are licensed to collect debts in (insert name of your state)
Be advised that I am fully aware of my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. For instance, I know that:
because I have disputed this debt in writing within 30 days of receipt of your dunning notice, you must obtain verification of the debt or a copy of the judgment against me and mail these items to me at your expense;
you cannot add interest or fees except those allowed by the original contract or state law.
you do not have to respond to this dispute but if you do, any attempt to collect this debt without validating it, violates the FDCPA;
Also be advised that I am keeping very accurate records of all correspondence from you and your company including recording all phone calls and I will not hesitate to report violations of the law to my State Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau.
I have disputed this debt; therefore, until validated you know your information concerning this debt is inaccurate. Thus, if you have already reported this debt to any credit-reporting agency (CRA) or Credit Bureau (CB) then, you must immediately inform them of my dispute with this debt. Reporting information that you know to be inaccurate or failing to report information correctly violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act § 1681s-2. Should you pursue a judgment without validating this debt, I will inform the judge and request the case be dismissed based on your failure to comply with the FDCPA.
Finally, if you do not own this debt, I demand that you immediately send a copy of this dispute letter to the original creditor so they are also aware of my dispute with this debt.
