Keith - 8 Jul 2008I would suppose if a legitimate business calls me from the phone number of 800-828-7959, they would also want to display their business name on caller id instead of displaying UNKNOWN NAME. UNKNOWN NAME equals potential Scam Artist whom I simply do not pick up the phone to listen to...

Jerry - 13 Aug 2008This number belongs to an outside calling firm located in India - they may call for a number of businesses - Suntrust Bank being one of them - they also use other numbers like - 800-607-0386 and 804-319-1962 - they will vary the calls from each of the numbers until you finally pick up and then they state that it is just a courtesy call if you have recently made a payment at the bank for your auto loan even if you are still in the period where you would not pay additional interest and are not delinquent.

Jabulani - 5 May 2007DON'T EVEN ANSWER IT...Like Tony said, it's SunTrust Bank Collection Department, harassing you to make a payment. I been a customer for 4 years paying $550 p/month, never been late. Called to let them know I will not be able to make payment due to sudden business crisis and request a "skip-a-payment" or "hardship" making only interest payments for the next 2 months. THE ANSWER WAS NO, but for "skip-a-payment" can be arrange for $15 calling customer service witch I did accomplish.
This 800-828-7959 people keep on calling me at work 3 to 5 times and today at 8:23am, then at 9:09am and again at 9:55am. At home the same but they never leave any messages but he did say to pay or we'll come and take your truck...That is so illegal, threating me and calling my work #, so it's better not to answer it at all. SUNTRUST SUCK!!

anon - 15 Aug 2008Interesting. Last year, I set up a 'skip payment.' Filled out the paperwork to extend the payment period one month, paid the interest and everything. I wonder if there isn't some kind of glitch in the system and they are trying to collect that month's bill???

craig1989 - 7 Jun 2007To make it stop, you need to call the 800 number and advise the rep that they are calling your number by mistake and you do not have an account with them. You will need to provide the number that they called so they can find what account it is associated with.

annoyed - 26 May 2007Yes i am also getting harrassed by them. I dont have any suntrust account and never have. Got the call from the 1962 number the other day and I told them i had no account. Now they are calling again from the 1-800-828-7959 number. Really annoying as well.

Shannon - 8 Jun 2007This guy called all of my phone numbers today claiming to be a sherriff and wanting to serve my mother in law papers. I am not associated with her accounts and He lied to me, my husband, and scared my kids who now think their granmda is in trouble with a sherriff.

David - 8 Jun 2007My cell phone was called from a autodialer once a day for about a week. Annoying long pause while I'm connected to a rep, who in a heavily accented voice asks for a name I don't recognize. I say "wrong number" and hang up. Today the autodialer calls and I get silence. I hang up and dial 800-828-7959. Press 0 for the operator and explain that they have a wrong number. They were polite enough, but the first half-dozen "wrong number" replies should have clued them in that they had the wrong number.

Debby - 26 Jul 2007They called me today and I only typed in the phone number here into google because I was very confused who would be leaving a message that they were calling for a sherriff. Bank, insitution or whatever that has to be illegal.
I don't think I've ever heard of this bank before and certainly can't have an account with them.
I will ignore all future attempts - they left this message with my retired mother at my old home address. Nice that she was worried I was going to jail. Even if I did in fact owe them a debt...that kind of behavior sure ain't going to help them out.
