Called today at 10:50 C.S.T. and there was no answer. I called back and there was an automated message stating this was an attempt to collect a debt. I don't know of anyone I owe so I hung up.

Called May 30, 2008 at 10:52 am. May 29, 2008 at 12:07 pm. I am on the no call list and don't want to receive these "toll free call" calls.

We never answer these calls, even though they come in once a day. I settled my hospital bill over 3 months ago, and they claim to be debt collectors. I called the number back and of course no one answered...just put me on hold for forever...so I hung up... their name is bay area credit. Research "bay area credit" on google and look under the whocalled.us link. Apparently they're harassing others as well!

Got a call from this number this morning, when i answered they hung up. If you really want to know what this "bay area credit"  is like try Bud Hipps website. He tells about all these so called "debt collectors". It is budhipps.com .

I kept getting calls from this number w/no message.  I called them back after reading these posts.  They answered right away, I simply told them that their calls with no messages are getting annoying.  They told me who they were looking for - it wasn't me - they updated their records and we hung up.

Hopefully I won't be getting the calls any longer.

Have received calls from this number almost every day for the last few weeks.  I have zero, repeat ZERO, debt right now.  I never answer and a message is never left by this number.  I finally called the number back and got a recording saying that it was for Bay Area Credit Service and that their office was closed.  I then googled and found that they should be open until 9pm PST (it was only 530pm PST when I called).  Found a different number listed on their site:  (800) 697-1234.  Called that and explained to a guy what was happening.  He asked for my number, but hung up on me before I could give it to him.  Called back and got no answer -- just rang and rang.  The government needs to do something about this company!

I received five calls from this number. The first four times I didn't answer, I am on the do not call list and if I don't know the number or it is toll free I don't answer. The caller left a message each time, it was the same man calling and he was very nice - even on the fourth message! He kept asking for someone I don't know. Finally, this morning I answered. He asked for that same person and I told him there was no one here by that name. He apologized for bothering me and that was that. I was curious about what they wanted this other fellow for and looked up the number. I found this site. Debt collection makes sense, most toll free numbers wouldn't leave messages each time.

I too have been receiving upteen calls on my cell phone from 800-841-2316. I finally called them to tell them to stop placing harrasing calls to me. Bay Credit Services? Everytime they call I have NOT been answering the phone. An East Indian male or female leaves a message for me. They claim that they're trying to track down someone with a name that I cannot spell.

I have received two calls this week, wanting to speak to a person with the last name Wolfe!  I told him no one was here by that name and they had the wrong number.  Today, I was not at home and my husband answered the phone and they wanted to talk to someone with the last name Wolfe and he told him no one was here by that name.  He then told my husband he was with a collection agency and needed the last 4-digits of my social security number; then my husband became wish to the caller and told him he didn't know it and would not give it to him if he knew it and would have to call me back in 2-3 hours.  I too an on the do-not-call list and I'm not sure how they keep calling.  To whom do we report this information?

This number has called me numerous times I am not sure why nor do I care.  After several calls they finally left a message from a middle -eastern male asks "Please call me back, ok?" extention 5665.

Call several times a day make like they are a friend calling - issue is I dont have any eastern indian friends named Vince or Mike.

Got a call today and the man said he was looking for a Stephanie.  Wanted to discuss why there was no one by that name here and why she would give my number out to be contacted with.  I finally hung up on him.

My question is this:  What scam, con, or deal are they engaged in?  There has to be some way this is making money for them.  I don't believe they are chasing actual people with bad debts, so what gives?

They have been calling me non-stop for the past two months and multiple times in a single day over a settled debt. I told them the first time they called that I currently had no unpaid debts. The debt they were asking about was not only settled but is also past the statute of limitations to report to the credit agencies, so they were wasting their time and I would no longer answer the phone. They have yet to leave a message and only call on my cell phone.

Collection agency calling my personal cell phone number (that I've had in my name for over 8 years) for the 4th time, looking for a "Carlos".  Told them for the 4th time that there is not and has never been a Carlos associated with this number.  Was told the 4th time that my number would be stricken from the list, though this is what they've told me in the past.

Before ending the conversation, I told the agent on the phone that I had her name (Nicky) and day/time I spoke with her in my records, as well as all the other names of agents I spoke with in the past, along with the corresponding dates/times that they called in the past.  I told the agent that any further calls I would get from this number would result in me filing a harrassment suit against them with the FTC as well as reporting their agency and the offending employees to the BBB.  They assured me they wouldn't contact me again- I'll believe it when it happens.

I have been receiving phone calls about every other day for at least that last 4-5 months.  I never pick up the phone since it comes through the caller id as No Data.  They do leave a message but it is a Jackie Price calling for a Chaqita S Brown.  The voicemail message is always the same.

I finally grabbed a pen and copied down the number.  I called it to get them to stop calling and the phone rang to an automated message, then would appear to transfer and would come right back to the same automated message.  I found the other number mentioned on this website and called it.  A guy answered and stated they didn't have my phone number on their list of numbers to be calling.  I told him that they have been calling for months every other day or so.

He stated to me that I would receive no more calls from them.  I am curious as others have said when the next phone call will come.

I started keeping count yesterday and those [***] call here six times a day. Three times before noon, three times after. I never answer. I have no debt at all. I figured it was some kind of shady outfit because they are relentless! On the caller ID, all it has is 800 Service 800-841-2316.

This automated calling message calls about once a day indicating it is looking to collect a debt and that I need to call them back and ask for Jackie Price.  I am on the no call lists, it gets caught by Privacy Director so I never actually answer/speak to anyone - and I owe no one anything.

Make this harrassment stop.
