Received a call from a "Process Server" claiming they have been trying to serve me for days. They called from a blocked ID. They gave me the phone number 800-901-5219 and a CDS#-whatever that is. They told me they would serve me the next day between 12-5 and to call the 800 for more info. I called the 800 number and got a robot sounding voicemail. The blocked ID called today (the day of my serving) and left a message saying they would be visiting my place of employment (I have not worked since 3/2014) I believe they got my information because I am a licensed contractor. Beware

I got a call from "Private Number" which I let go to vm.  This is the message I later retrieved:
"This message is intended for "Amy (insert my previous married name here). My name is Cindy White. I'm calling regarding some documents that I will bringing to your residence or place of employment tomorrow between 12 and 5 pm. These documents, they do require your signature so, make sure that you have a valid ID with you.  If you have any questions concerning this matter you will need to contact the claimant directly at 800-901-5219.  And there is also a claim number attached, which is DST-xxx.  Now, if you do resolve this matter with that office, make sure they send me a stop order immediately.  Amy (old last name), you have been notified."

Frank Foster just called my number to serve my son! It was exactly the same message as you guys got. About once a year someone calls my number for my son with the same message. He gets the calls, too, but we can't figure out why I am involved. He has no idea why they are calling. I have not found a way to stop the calls from Frank Foster or one of his associates. They are always blocked. Anyone else have any luck with that?

I called the 1-888-382-1222 and filed a complaint. It is the National Do Not Call registry. It is disturbing to get theses messages and annoying that they won't go away. I felt it was threatening and possibly illegal.

Received the same message except the name was Jill Reed she left 800 number I called they calm to be a law firm with legal documents to deliver and they would not give info with out the last four digits of my social.  Had short conversation with a lady who hung up on me when I denied her calm, told me I was calling her a liar and slammed phone on me, so I believe these people are collecting social numbers for there own personal use.

I received this call from a blocked number and let it go to voicemail. Her name was Jennifer Smith and she had papers to serve me with a CSD# attached to my maiden name. I haven't used my maiden name in 8 years. She would be visiting my job and my home the next day between 12 and 5 and to have a valid drivers license with me. AS IF. The next day the same blocked # said that they were coming to my job first and then going to my home but to humor them I waited for them to show. No one showed so I called the # that was left on my voicemail and it told me to leave a message. HA

Got a call for my daughter about serving papers using her maiden name. She has been married and moved over 10 years ago. When I volunteered to accept service as her dad and a retired attorney, they hung up on me. This is a scam to get decades old bills paid. Ignore them.

How can I verify whether or not a debt collector is legitimate?
Here are a few warning signs that could signal a debt collection scam:

The debt collector threatens you. Legitimate debt collectors probably won't claim that they'll have you arrested or claim that they or their employees are law enforcement officers.

The debt collector refuses to give you information about your debt or is trying to collect a debt you do not recognize. You have certain rights to ask a debt collector to verify the debt. You can use this sample letter to request this information. Ask for an explanation in writing before you pay.

The debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number.

The debt collector asks you for sensitive personal financial information. You should never provide anyone with your personal financial information unless you are sure they're legitimate.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

Ask the caller for his or her name, company, street address, telephone number, and professional license number. Many states require debt collectors to be licensed. Check the information the caller provides you with your state officials, or the state in which the debt collector holds a license. If the caller refuses or is unable to provide you with information about his company, or if you can’t verify the information he provides, do not give money to the caller or company.

Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." This notice must include:
    The amount of the debt
The name of the creditor you owe
A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.

Tip: You can consider sending the collector a letter requesting the information by using one of the CFPB's sample letters. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB or you can contact your state Attorney General’s office.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know the company or person you are talking with is a real debt collector. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft such as:
    Charging your existing credit cards
Opening new credit card or checking accounts
    Writing fraudulent checks
Taking out loans in your name

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Submit a complaint with the CFPB or get in touch with your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers.

Stop speaking with the caller. If nothing else works and you believe the calls are fraudulent, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files.

Tip: You can use this sample letter to write a letter demanding the debt collector stop contacting you. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Tip: If you're having trouble with debt collection, you can submit a complaint with the CFPB online or by calling (855) 411-CFPB (2372).

    Another victim
My husband received two (unknown caller) phone calls for me.  Yesterday was the first from Jeff Spears or Spheres with the same information that all of you are getting. That he has legal papers to serve me and that he cannot give out any information as he is only a courier. A courier that "gets paid very well" in his own words. I am to call 800-901-5219 with a DTS # they gave him. I do not have any debts outstanding. And nothing is on my credit report.

After telling my husband not to answer unknown calls again, he received the second one today, this one going to voicemail. The message was again from Jeff Spears or Spheres and that he has not gotten any change in this arrangement within the last 24 hours and thus will be serving me those papers at "a" place of employment "later on this afternoon", which of course did not happen. But I am to be sure to be available and to have a valid ID on me. I am to direct any questions to the claimant's office at the 800-901-5219 and again giving him the DTS number.

What to do? Will these calls stop?

Don't let these [***] heads scare you. I received a voicemail message from a private number, called the number I was given from the message & had a great time after that. I look forward to these calls because they are all scammers trying it a different way. I called them 23 times, they are only spoke with me twice & would never disclose information about their business.

Anybody know any more about this? I don't have any outstanding debt
