BEWARE, IT'S A TELEMARKETER!!! They never leave a message, but if you call the number back, an automated message states they are looking to gain support for The Special Olympics... I blocked the number immediately....

    Potential Scam Victim
I got this call.  It's a typical scam to get money from you.  Once it was the Shriner's Circus. Other time it was a magazine scam.  Now it's for the special olympics.  It's all bull.

Doesn't matter if you're on the no call list.  This is a charity, and they are exempt from that rule.  I just blocked them.

They call at all hours morning, noon and night.I never answer and you would think they would get tired of no answer, but they don't give up.Special Olympics would never behave this way,I know I have a son that participates. It is a scam.I filed several complaints with the do not call list.Again they call. What good is the list if they don't stop these crooks.

Nothing like waking up the baby!  Same number and I answered "hello" only to hear a recorded message "I'm sorry we can't help you with that service".  Call came in after 8 PM disturbing my family.  Our home number is for emergencies not for being harassed!

Caller ID shows 800 903-3829, no name.  Answered phone, said "hello" twice, caller (probably a recording) said, "That is not a valid response." and disconnected.  This is similar to several other (800) service calls received recently - generally there is nobody on the other end.  It's unusual for an incoming call to show (800) service, as 800 numbers usually RECEIVE rather than MAKE calls.  Best response is NOT TO ANSWER OR CALL BACK, as it gives the caller verification that your number is valid and you'll probably get more of same.  It's possible that someone is trying to monitor phones by calling and activating a recording device on the called phone, similar to "bugs" placed on online computers that monitor/record activities on the target computer.  Assuming that you have caller ID, best practice for your personal security and privacy is to let the phone ring on "unknown" calls until it disconnects, then pick up/hang up each of your phones several times to deactivate any residual monitor program placed on your line.  This particular number was traced back to a "Special Olympics" promotion several years ago, but that's not current info.  As a minimum these calls are annoying, at worst they may be efforts to "bug" your home or office via your phone(s) without physically installing a listening device.  NOTE: Being on state/federal DNC lists will NOT stop this intrusive activity, even if you manage to trace the actual caller!
