This is a timeshare solicitation scam. "Hi this is Carmen calling from the Awards Claim Center. We have been trying to reach you regarding our promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer. Please give me a call as soon as possible. I have great news for you. My toll-free number is 1-800-918-4224 and your claim number is ****. It is very important you give us a call as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great day." Don't waste your time! Block this number.

Received a call from this number AT WORK!!  The call was answered and put me on hold immediately, for at least 6-8 minutes.  I read the above post while I was on hold and hung up before they answered.

They actually called my voicemail at my corporate office. It was verbatim what Arny said above.  Thanks for giving me the heads up before I called them back.

Same message! They called me at my college dorm... they said they were trying to reach my roomate ( I called them to say they might have the wrong number- I feel stupid now!) and asked or "verified" a few generic questions like broad age category and if she was a licensed driver... Can people be dangerous with information like that? :(

I just received the same voice message and called back, I knew it was a scam but wanted to see who it was and possibly report them.  After several rings, 'Virginia' answered and said she would be assisting me today.  She asked for the phone number they called me on and when I told her I didn't even know who they were and wouldn't give my number until I figured it out she said "OK, have a good day, sir." and hung up the phone!  I want my truck! :-)

"Carmen" called my office and left a voice mail as well.  What a load of crap!  Our numbers aren't published, and show a "generic" number when we dial out, so the random call generators are at work again ... Oh, I work for the Federal Government and this is being reported to the FCC.

We've received this message on 3 phones at my office from "Annabelle". It's a scam. Just delete the messages. Why would they say "This is your last and final notice" - when it's only the first time we've heard the message. They're a bunch of idiots.

I got the same message as Kar, "Please call, this is your last and final notice." They called me on my cell phone.  I thought Sprint was supposed to block telemarketing calls. Anyway, I figured it was a scam, so didn't call back.

I just got a call at work from Carmen in the awards center.  The only two pieces of info I ended up giving out were my home address and cell #.  Out of curiosity while on the phone with Carmen, I followed through all the steps and listened to what they had.  Basically, they want you to go to 1000 Holcomb Woods Parkway, Building 100, Suite 116 (off of 400 and Old Alabama Road, GA)in which my appointment would be tomorrow at 5:00 (2/28).  There, I would listen to their company for 1 1/2 hours, United Airlines Vacations a/k/a United Vacations.  Afterwards, I would receive a scratch off ticket that would be "guaranteed" one of these - New Ford Explorer, $25,000 in cash, 7 day 6 night Bahamas trip, or 27 Inch Plasma TV.  I had to use the "VIP#" to get in tomrrow.  However, after being skeptical enough and reading the other entries for this # - I too feel it is a scam.  If I really won something, they should track me down and I shouldn't have to go listen to a speech first to get a scratch off ticket.  Carmen promised me it wasn't a sale or time share - but are they that desparate for customers?

Received call at work today around 1:50 PM. The call had switched over to my backup line because I was engaged in another call on my primary line, and it subsequently went to voice mail. Message was from "Carmen" of "Awards Claim Center" concerning "a promotion to receive a brand new Ford Explorer." Caller went on to say, "I have some really good news for you" and gave this toll-free number to call back (1-800-981-4424). She also referred to a claim number of HH592. I have seen this same claim number in at least one other post about this same scam, and I presume that the "claim number" identifies the specific scam about which you are being called.

I never enter contests, and I never give out my business phone number except for legitimate business purposes. I presume this was a prerecorded phone message, which used to be illegal until the powerful telemarketer lobby got Congress to open the floodgates.

As I do with all such unsolicited promotional contacts, I reported it to my company's legal department for appropriate action, including a digital copy of the phone message.

I received a call from this phone number on my cell phone.  I happend to have it on silent so I missed the call.  I can understand getting this unsolicited call on my home phone, but how did they get my cell number?

"Hi this is Carrie" It sounds like the name has changed but the game is still the same.   Thanks to Arny for transcribing the call,  it saved me from calling them or wondering whether I should have called.   Thanks also to Cat for there message and everyone else.

I received the message from this number, and just like everyone else's been saying I was promised an Explorer or $25,000 in cash.  I called back and was put on hold for 10 minutes and finally someone answered the phone.  She asked me what state I was calling from, I wouldn't tell her until she told me which company was trying to contact me.  She got irate and hung up.

Sounds like a scam to me!  If they are trying to reach me so bad, they can get their behind in the Ford Explorer and drop it off at my front door!!!
