so this guy calls and keeps asking if the person (that he's after) works and where she lives etc. he then keeps telling me that every information he has is confidential and personal so he can't tell me. he then asks me if he can leave a message and i say sure and then he says get a pen and write down the callback number (800 935 0591). i ask him what's his department or at least what this message is regarding (a subject if you will), he says he can't disclose any information because everything is confidential.  then he asks what my name was for the record...i say..my name is confidential too since i don't freakin' know you..and then your welcome goodbye... =]

The person I talk to keep using the fact that I own over 100k and that I need to pay..... I'm not working n don't qualify to any federal help.... I live of my son support and what not  alimony.... I tell them I could do montly payments of 100dlls the most and they say that if I'm joking or what!!! How can I just pay 100dlls .when I own 100k... I tell them my situation... N they don't seem to care... I know they doing their job by pushing me to pay them, but they are rude and don't seem to give a nut...

But what's really irritating it's the fact that they what u to send a check or money order to a PO box .... Which is who knows where, I think he say in LA which brings me up... Why the heck am I gonna send my money to LA when the UcD it's in Sacramento!!! Wouldn't be easier to go n pay here... Couldn't they use the money here locally why send to LA!?....

And on top of that I don't get any paperwork, receipt or balance!!!

I have gotten TEN calls from these people every single day since about the 27th of September up until today, October 13th. I ask what it's regarding (as someone above mentioned they asked as well... a subject of the message) and they of course like the other person, wont tell me because its confidential and ask who I am. I tell them that's none of their business as I don't know who they are and am not going to tell them who I am and just hang up.

When are these debt collectors going to realize that calling someone every single day is not going to get them payment as how do I know where this money is going. On top of that my husband is the only adult in the house that has a job and I cannot, and will not make ANY payment arrangements without discussing it with him. Also, I don't even have any money to send them so it doesn't do any good to keep calling me when the answer is the same...don't have any money!

Bottom line, they're duche bags and total bottom feeders. Why can't they get a real job and stop harassing people who's only fault is being affected by the economy and unable to pay. It aint like we DON'T want to settle our debts. We just CANT!

Jeez that's kind of harsh... Seeing as you don'teven have a job who are you to say what a "real" job is!? I mean they're calling me too, but seeing as I owe them money I understand them trying to collect  it. Come on now calling them [***]!? As far as creditors go these people are very minimally harassing.

I agree. They act like we dont want to pay our debts. This is completely untrue...some of us, like myself, CAN'T pay what they want. When it comes to doctor bills, we dont just go to the doctor when we have the money...you never plan when you'll need to see a doctor. Calling people multiple times per day isn't going to make that person be able to pay any faster. In the case of "annoyed" below me, calling 10 times a day is harassment and is a CRIME! You should report them if theyre calling you that many times per day. I know I would. I may not answer this phone number anymore.

Excuse me....Did you ever stop to think that maybe that person has a disability that makes it impossible for them to work and that maybe they would LIKE to work?! When a "company" calls a person 10 times EVERY day calling them a douche seems to fit to me. 10 times a day is harassment and their company could be sued for harassment by calling that much, especially every day. Minimally harassing??? You have to be kidding mister (or miss)! I myself DO have a job and they call me too- doesnt mean I can pay any sooner by them calling me multiple times a day, every day. Its extreme harassment.

Im glad you can say theyre minimally harassing but to me, and apparently to others as well, they are NOT minimally harassing. Theyre extremely harassing and need to stop calling people so many times per day, every day. They wont get anywhere that way...all that will get them is people will stop answering their phones and screen calls before picking up like I do. Good day.

They call me every week or so.  They say I have to pay (in spite of my bankruptcy, which they refuse to take information on) and demand that *I* give them information.  They want my name, birthdate, ss#...over the phone?  To people I don't know, and didn't call?  I don't think so. I tell them I'd be happy to _verify_ information but I won't _give_ them information.  No go.  That's about when I normally hang up.

My problem with them is that they aren't willing to accept what I'm able to pay them per month. Im already stretched to the limit with my medical insurance premium having gone up 20% this past April. I cant afford more than a extra $50 per month which isn't acceptable to them. If they TRULY wanted their money, they would be willing to accept $50 a month...after all, isn't SOME money per month better than getting nothing? At least that shows I'm TRYING to pay off the debt I owe. I have only a part time minimum wage job and my husband is already stretched to the limit with the rest of our bills. These creditors dont seem to understand that not everyone is dodging their debt because their lazy or dont want to pay...some of us just cant and make it month to month.

I have worked with USCB to solve a debt in the past and currently. They were very willing to work with me. The representative was very nice and helpful. No harassment or anything. I told her I could pay $30 and she agreed to that. I'm having it directly debited so I don't miss a payment and they do charge a $4 fee to do it. Most of the time the payment is based on how high your debt is. At six months they review the case. If any collection agency harasses you in any way you can report them. You can also ask for a supervisor. They are not supposed to be pushy, forceful, use hard words, etc. Also beware, confirm the collection agency is calling about a current debt because some cheesy agencies buy old debt and try to collect even if you have defaulted or declared bankruptcy. I tell them that it was included in my bankruptcy and to please take me off of the list or I will report you. Always make sure you get the name of the company and the representative's name (they won't give out a last name) or ID number. I would definitely try to call again and see if they will work something out. Ask them for an explanation of why they can't accept the $50. My husband and I don't have jobs due to a layoff and business closure, so even though it is difficult to pay I give it my best shot. I wish you the best of luck and hope you get this matter taken care of.

Julie...believe me I have. They dont care. At least not the people Ive spoken with. And Id rather pay the company directly...not this group. Theres no guarantee that if you pay USCB that the debt will be erased from my credit record. I wish I couldve paid it sooner but I didnt get a job until 2 yrs ago and my medical and dental insurance, medicines for my daughter who has epilepsy and other necessities takes up most of my tiny paycheck (which I might add is minimum wage) and then I have to put gas in my car to get to work and eat. Theres nothing left for USCB.

Its not that I dont WANT to ...Its that I cant.

Here we go again with calls from USCB. They dont get it that I only work part-time at minimum wage. On top of it, my work is in the towing industry at a secondary tow yard and Im not always guaranteed work. I went all but three days for the ENTIRE month of June. I can barely pay my medical insurance premium, daughters braces payment....theres just nothing I can do. Its not a matter of  not wanting to pay these people....I ....just...CAN'T! They dont seem to get it or just don't care and seem to think that harassing, daily (sometimes multiple times a day) calls will make money suddenly appear. Hello.....it doesnt!

I used to get the same calls, I was in the hospital for over 2 months and I got a bill, I wasn't even out of the hospital and I sent a check for $50. They called me in the hospital and said that wasn't good enough. I got home and sent another $50 and some lady called me and said if I can't pay at least $500 a month don't send anything at all. So the next month I sent $50, a couple of weeks later I received a letter in the mail with my check ripped in half with a note saying "this isn't good enough if it's not $500 don't send anything" and the dumb lady signed her name. So everytime they call or send something I send them a copy of the note that lady sent and a copy of my check ripped in half. They don't call as often.

You think these people are bad. Try getting 2-3 calls per day, EVERY day from 319-242-7353 & 978-224-8070 which is CBE Group. I try reporting them but it doesnt do any good. Its not like I dont want to pay....but I cant! I am only part time and already paying for my daughters braces which doesnt leave much for buying groceries for my family. We HAVE to eat!

I hear ya bella. These arent people "just doing their job"...theyre paid bullies who dont care what your financial situation is. Im only working part time and the work isnt always consistant as I work at a Tow yard and only part time. No cars = No work = no pay. Ive gone as long as a month straight with no paycheck. I tried to pay my balance with UC Davis but when the 2nd payment came up, I hadnt worked but ONE day that whole paycheck and couldnt pay it. By the time it came again, the bill had doubled and I couldnt pay IT either. Its exactly what I told the billing lady with UC Davis...I could BARELY afford the payments she was asking for...when its doubled, it just makes it that much more impossible and now these "people" are harassing me. Unlike some who never make an attempt to pay their debts...I try but sometimes its just impossible and I wish these "people" would get that. Not all of us are deadbeats wh dont pay our bills....sometimes we just CANT!

How classy. That reminds me of the time I was in the process of going into credit counseling--and everyone with the exception of a particular finance company was on board. Not only did they send a nasty letter back refusing to participate---but they also took a big red marker and drew an "X" over the original letter, which, (like in your case), was totally uncalled for. It took all the restraint I could muster to keep from writing or calling and telling them it would be a WHOLE lot easier for me to file for bankruptcy (in which case they would end up getting NOTHING), than to have to put up with this kind of nonsense. A simple "We're sorry, but we are unable to place your account in credit counseling at this time. Is there anything else we can do to help you?" would have sufficed. There is NO need for them to be so nasty. Anyway, I kept my cool as I already had my house up for sale and knew their days were numbered as soon as it sold and I received that equity check. Sure enough it did---and they were the FIRST one to go. POOF.....!
