Claims to be Union Bank investigating a scam.  They are the scam.  Union Bank does not know anything about them.  BE CAREFUL.  They are phishing for your pin numbers.

Vm claiming to be Union Bank.  After I checked some of the web posting, called them and said I'd like to check with my local Union Bank to verify before giving out information.  Lady recommended I call the customer service number on the back of my card if I was uncomfortable giving her the info.  Called the number and my card had been blocked due to a large purchase I had made.  So, I don't know if this number is Union Bank but you can always call the number on your card.

I got a call from 619-645-4100 on my cell and home phone.  The recording that I received was very scratchy and could not make out what was said.  I could make out to call 800-941-8492.  I called the customer service on the back of my card.  The person I talked to looked at my account and said the Fraud Department did call to report 3 transactions on my debit card they felt were suspicious.  And they were.  Card was declined on these transactions.  Lucky for me I did not have much money in the account.  Always check with your bank by calling the customer service department given on the back of your card.  I still would not trust the number given in voice mails.    

Oh, and this goes out to jendar.  What's so funny?  Laugh all you want, because fraud is not funny.  Union Bank is out of their minds having you employed by them.

No, this is not a scam. It IS Union Bank. I called the number on the back of my Union Bank debit card and verified that number was from their Fraud Dept.

It is part of a widespread telemarketing fraud.

I just got this scam again

I got this call today too and it is actually the Union Bank Fraud Department.  I spoke to Union Bank directly.  800 941 8492 is the fraud dept and the 619 645 4100 is the local number they dial from.  I was pleased when I found out  it was legit!

this is Union Bank's fraud dept. I called customer service to verify because i felt odd about calling another number. i had a HUGE fraud charge on my account. was thankful they caught it.

I notified Union Bank that our account info was in a computer that was stolen from a large health care provider.  There were several charges that were questionable on the account.  We closed out the card and then it will be reissued later.  I was very happy with the help I received on the phone.  He went out of his way to verify that everything was true.

It is Union Bank. They didn't ask anything except the last 4 of my SSN and name to verify. Fraud dept.

This is definitely real! I was able to verify everything they said as far as the charges on my online account while they were going over it. They did not ask for any personal information and when I called back the number on my card, they were able to verify it.

Just got an email from a Paul.Ledesma@unionbank.com.  Claims that there is a block placed on my card and I would need to call this phone number to get it unblocked.

I also got a call asking to call this number back.  I called Union Bank directly to inquire about a fraud alert and indeed there was one.  The call back is legit.  Always be smart though and You call YOUR Bank..

Yes it's really Union Bank.

I got the same call. Some hackers broke into a Supermarket's network database and stole all the ATM debit/credit info.  I called the number they provided, gave them my info. and they said a new card would be issued.  I then called the Main Union Bank number, gave them my info and had them verify the 800 941 8492 number was their fraud line.  I got lucky it was the correct number.  As others have said in this blog.  Use the number on the back of your card to verify that fraud has occured.  Look before you leap!  I didn't.  But I got lucky.

This number is Union Bank fraud department.  I just got a message from them, called at this number and talked to them regarding my card number stolen.  However, afterwards I started feeling uncomfortable with the info I gave to them and not sure if they are real.  So I called their customer service and found out they are real and my card number was stolen.  If you don't feel good about it, I recommend that you call 1-800-238-4486 (Union Bank customer service) and talk to a customer representative before you talk to them.

Don't worry, this IS a legitimate number.
We just got called after the recent Target debit card problem.  After we called the (800) we then called the number on the back of our card, and they confirmed 1 (800) 941-8492 is their fraud number.  They said it is "an internal number" that they don't give out to the public.  (Seems a little weird to me, because people want to make sure they're calling a legit number, but that's what they said!"

By all means, go into your local bank, or call the number on your card, if you are uncomfortable at all!

As caller ID is easily faked NEVER give out personal information on a call you did not make. Real number? Sure. Real caller? Maybe not. Always tell caller you will return their call, then go get the number (from back of card, phone book, or statement).
