Received a weird call today from Diana: She knew my name, and said that It is in my best interest to call back. This matter needs to be addressed. No company name, just a reference number. Don't want to call this number. Is this collections?
Liz, I did a Google search for the call back number they left for me; 1-800-944-3828. It turns out it is Wyse Financial. Then i dialed *57, ($1.00) to initiate a trace. The number that recording gave me is 1-800-582-0655. Since i live in Colorado, I'm assuming it's Qwest. Now for the good part. The person they are calling about is someone I have never heard of. I called the first 800 number and left them a nasty voice mail. If you want to find out more about their tactics, try this link. http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/146/ripoff0146612.htm. This automated call happened at ten to nine, just in time to avoid the "no call" rules. Also, here's the link to their Web site. http://www.wysefinancial.com/.
ALL YOU GUYS ARE DEBTORS NO ONE KNOWS WHAT COLLECTORS GO THROUGH ON A DAILY BASIS CUSSED OUT AND CALL EVERY NAME IN THE BOOK BECAUSE OF OTHER POPLES DEBT THAT THEY DONT ACT LIKE THEY OWE!!!BS.....DEBOTRS SUCK!!
I am getting messages from this company, and I have no debts that are even behind, so your pathetic presumption that we are all in arrears is incorrect. As for collectors, I do not feel sorry for them, because I am familiar with the unethical, and often illegal, methods they use to attempt to collect.
Well, Wyse Financial has been calling us, and we pay every bill by its due date. Turns out, someone got my husband's social security number, name, address, birthdayte, etc and opened a credit card account on which they think we owe $1600. So, maybe, "Slick," you're not so slick. Maybe you judge other people a little too quickly. Me thinks your time will come. Pride goeth before a fall.
I got a call from these people and they gave the name Jason. There is nobody by that name living in this house, and we have had this number for three years. Yes, debtors should pay, but I am not one of their debtors and resent the phone calls.
I have attempted to call these people back, and all I ever get is voicemail. Since I have no debt, and I know that my credit was compromised earlier this year, I am trying to find out what this call is regarding. No one really seems to want to talk to me! Maybe my lawyer will have better luck.
you are entitled to get a free credit report from any of the 3 credit agencies once a year--however, if you are a victim of fraud or have been refused credit they are obligated to provide you with a reports (Experian, Transunion, Equifax)-- FYI I Have also gotten calls from unprofessional agencies, looking for someone with my name--they are grasping at straws, or in one case tried to collect an alleged debt that was beyond the statute of limiations for collections (it happened to be a fee of 9.95 which I was to get a credit of 9 years prior...) Have them prove the debt or demand they stop calling--Good Luck to you.
I got the phone call and called back, and I have a SEARS CREDIT CARD from 15 yrs ago, and they are trying to collect...hello 15 yrs later you would think it was resolved...I totally forgot about it.
SEARS is one of the main people behind these scammers.. check out Google for the statute of limitations in your state for a collection case. If it is past the date.. then file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.. they have had MANY complaints about these shady scumbags.. enough cases and they will be forced to do something about them... if not a GROUP LAWSUIT against (UN)WYSE for harassment is a remedy to be sought.
Now to the other side... if you owe money.. don't come on here lying or trying to make your self a poor victim..if we intend to file a class-action case against (UN)WYSE, then we need to make sure we have all our facts straight..
These debt collectors are finding information from old accounts and they tell you that you owe the money. There is normally a 7 year period that they have to collect the money from the time it goes delinquent. I am having the same problem with this company. I had another problem with another debt collector and they said I owed money for Sprint back in 2001. They had an address that I was supposed to open up the account at. The problem was that I didn't live at that address in 2001. They could easily get addresses of where people lived at. That's actually public information. What you need to do is contact them and have them send you documents of when and where the account was opened. They are supposed to. Find out your rights!
Received a call from Megan. Who called me by my first name then said that this was in regards to a very important matter and I needed to call her office immediately so that we could come to a resolution. The number to call was the one above (1-800-944-3828) ext. 212 with reference number 2181592. She did not leave the name of the company she was calling from or info as to what she was calling about. I did a reverse lookup to find out the company and nothing came up. I have no outstanding bills and therefore concluded that this is either a scam or they have the wrong number. Any legitament company would leave the company name and a clue as to what they calling about.
Also...the scumbags call as SOON AS POSSIBLE.. FIRST THING IN THE MORNING..I worked nights.. so I was into the first hour of sleep... 8:02 EVERY DAMNED MORNING.. that is harassment..
Must have got 100 calls in the past 6 months or so. They say my first and last name but the middle initial is different than mine and this person is a "Jr." and I am not. I have talked to a dozen different people and told them to stop calling me. I finally just quit answering the phone. The latest one is from someone called "Mr. Meyers" at extension 234. What a d***hit.
I keep getting these calls, asking for a Daniel English (I have no idea who this is) to call back. I have just ignored the calls but they continue periodically.
