Caller left no message. I do not have a car loan from Capital One nor do I currently have a credit card with Capital One.

I keep getting calls from this number and I do not have an auto loan or a capitol one credit card

no message.  no auto loans or credit cards.  no accounts with capital one.

No message left, I'm in highschool and have no credit cards or auto loans.

Okay, I got one of these calls today, so I googled the number.  Came up with this page saying it was Capital One.  So .. I called the number and sure enough, they answered AS Capital One.

The recording says for the person to punch in their account number or ... wait for it ... their SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER.  Oh yeah, right.

I tried several different ways to get to speak to someone and the recordings would always hang up on me.  Then, I managed to get through to a live person.  Yahoo!  Of course, it was a person in India.  He could barely speak English.  His name was "Alfred."

I asked "Alfred" how did they get my number and why were you calling me?

After I verbally beat this guy to shreads (typically I don't do that but it is clear they are scammers) I said I wanted to be off their mailing list.  And he asked ... you aren't going to believe this ... "give me your full name."  I said, "Are you NUTS"?

There was no way I was giving this scammer my name.  He already had my number, thankyouverymuch.

Then I said I wanted to write to Capital One.  So he gave me their address, which is:

Anyway, I demanded to speak to his supervisor.  I was put on hold and after a very lengthy pause a smooth talking Indian man came on the phone by the name of ... Roman.

Now Roman tried to get my name as well.  And I argued with him and asked how he got my number.  He said in a variety of ways.  I told him I wanted my name removed and he suggested that I get on the "Do Not Call" Registry.  I told him I already WAS on it and that I was going to report them.  (I used Lingo which tracks and keeps a record of every call placed to and from this phone...)  

Anyway, he claims he will have me removed from their mailing list.

If this was truly Capital One, then their business practices are the scum of the earth.

They are either very very Dumb, or they do not talk with one another, or keep phone call record. I have told them many times, I do not have a Capitol
1 account of any kind, to please take me off the list......The calls persist
now I use language i normally do not use, very foul language, and they just hang up. Then call back a couple of hours later?

I hate automated messages! Called wanting to get an important message to my daughter. After several attempts to get the "send Message" option; it wanted her to call 888-486-7284 within 24 hrs from the number it automated system called. Impossible for her since she cannot hear! I don't think her auto loan is through CapOne anyway; this sounds like a scam.

Got one on 6/23/2008 at about 3:52 in Ohio and i dont have a capital one car loan or credit card.

I do not have any business with capitol one but I got call today and lady was asking for Julle Patel which I am not neither do i know this person so hung up. Strange.

I do have a car loan with Capital One, & this was a reminder that the payment was about due.  The recoding left an 888 # for me to call back within 24hrs. The message sid to call on the phone I rec the message on.  When I called this 888 # there was a recording with my name on it and to verify that it was me they asked for the yr I was born to be entered.  It then gave me my acct #.  The recoding then said when my payment was due & how much it was.  Ther were options to make different types of paymnets also.  Online, on phone, mail etc.

they called 11 times in one day, the best thing to do if you are late and have these collection calls is to get a free voicemail number and set it to answer immediately - then when they call and leave mesages you  have a record - they are also having collection calls from india now

Called me today for no apparent reason.  Dont have a loan or cc active with them.  Filed complaint at donotcall.gov  FU Capitol one, enjoy the $10000 fine.

Have received this call for a week now sometimes twice a day. After reading some of the other comments I called the number back and it was exactly as they said. They wanted my SS#. I do have a Capital One card that I have not used in years. No way I'm giving them any info. Now I hope they call at a time when I can answer my phone. BTW, they're calling my cell phone.

Again today received automated call from Capitol One wanted me to enter my account number or my social security number. I called another number and someone transferred me to the department the number 800-946-0332 belong to. I informed the lady that answered we are a business and we were tired of them trying up our business line. We didn't have a loan or credit card through them and I wanted our number removed. I also advised her I was looking at the same complaint from other people and that they have so issues. She informed me she would email our number to her boss and our number would be removed by tomorrow. We are on the Do Not Call list but that doesn't seem to matter.

A person called my cell phone during work and left a message saying, "this is Aundrea, with Capital One Auto Finance, I can not express enough the urgency of the matter and it does need your immediate attention". "My number is 800-946-0332."  

I don't have a car loan, credit cards, home mortgage or anything else with Capital One. I once had a credit card with them it was such a bate and switch situation, that I closed the account out and said I never will work with them again.  This is the lowest form of marketing their is.  Why hasn't Capital One gone under in this sub-prime crises.

People, it is not a scam. If you are late on a capital one bill, they call you. You may not have a auto loan or capital one credit card, but someone you know may have listed your number as a way for capital one to reach them or somehow they got the wrong number
