Are you behind on your mortgage due to hardship?

I received an "account review notice" regarding my mortgage with this number for a return call.  The notice states "a recent review of your property has determined that you may be eligible to receive immediate assistance. Your loan has been reviewed by our department and your current loan may be subject to a lower interest rate, principal reduction, HARP 2.0 refinance, or elimination of 2nd mortgage.

"Your current lender is one of the approved lenders authorized to offer aggressive loan workout options to qualified borrowers.."

I first called my lender, State Employee Credit Union to inquire. I was told they did not participate in these programs as they already offer reduced rates, etc.

I called the number on the notice.   They could not offer assistance for credit union mortgages, was the gist of it.

This seems to be a legitimate and sincere effort to help people keep their homes.

This a complete scam! I too received a "account review notice". After opening it, there is NO address and no name of the company represented. I called FIVE TIMES and the reps would not provide any identifiable information. I spoke to Chris initially who was nice until I asked for an address, at the point he hung up. I called back and spoke to Nancy who also would not provide identifiable information. I called back and spoke to Oscar who provided the street number but hung up immediately. (Coward). I called back and was immediately hung up. I called back and spoke to Elizabeth Davis (who was very nice). I explained my situation. And that wanted her to identify who they are after all, they claim to have my property information and "reviewed my account". I told her I will call no. Stop until they help. She provided an address. To be honest, after being hung up on so many times, each time I got more and more angry! After all, what are they hiding?? She said that there name and address was on the form. I looked at both sides, NO NAME NO ADDRESS. She said that they were careful of providing an address because they recently let someone named "Ron" go. If he worked there, wouldn't he know the address???? I asked her if she was in my position wouldn't she want to know who has her information?? She responded "listen to yourself, you are raving mad over a piece of paper". Truthfully, I was raving mad and after being hung up on so many times, there reps hiding their identities ( address and company names and who has my information trying to solicit mortgage assistance) and this clown trying to tell me what's on a piece of paper INFRONT OF ME, yes I was anything but nice. A reputable company would clearly have no issues with identifying themselves. Additionally, they would not hang up on a customer because they want to know additional information on who they are. I was nice to the initial reps but unfortunately Elizabeth took the full brunt of my anger. I have NO PATIENCE FOR SCAMMERS!!!
