These folks have called repeatedly this last week, never leaving a msg. Called the # back today, got an answering service.... "we were calling on behalf of the Toronto Star, no agents are available. Please leave a message and someone will call you back". I don't want anyone to call me back. A couple of months ago I had requested my # be taken off their call list, so I left a message telling them so, and to remove it again. We'll see if they do.

this number keeps calling my business line.  no message is ever left and when this number is redialled, no matter what time of day, it directs me to call back "during business hours".  It never does identify itself.

I was getting calls from these guys 4 or 5x a day. Finally today I actually answered, the salesman asked for me, and I said "Hold on, I'll get him for you..." then gave the phone to my 2 year old. This has been my new trick for these ppl...

Guy said he was calling on behalf of the Toronto Sun. Offer was 5 weekend papers for $2.53.  When I asked what the catch was, he said no catch...could offer me "easy pay plan" (yeah right!), just needed my charge card number. I told him I wouldn't give my card number over the phone and asked who he was with.  He said Telecom, Inc., been in business since late 80s.  He kept saying oh it's 100% secure and all calls are recorded! I asked if he had a number I could call and he reluctantly gave me 800-243-3101.  I said I just needed to check out to see if it was legit. I looked up that number online too and it all sounds like a total scam.

Oh, I just posted but just remembered the guy on the phone verified my name and address. Not happy about this, and so glad I didn't give him charge card info.

1-800-975-0913. When called, no ring, but a voice comes on saying "The intended recipients mailbox is full." I have confirmed with both the Sun and the Star that I am not on their call list. What a way to run a business.
I still say that telemarketing should be banned altogether. OR, we should be able to charge them back
$2.00 per call for aggravation and suffering. That would put a stop to this crap in a big hurry.

I live with my elderly parents & my Mother tries to rest & this number calls about 3 times a day. Today I called it back after it rang my number & it tells me to call back during business hours, but it just called me. I would appreciate it if it were blocked from calling our number.

It's Thanksgiving Monday and I got a call from this number. Answer machine says we have reached this number after hours and need to call back during business hours. Aren't there laws about telemarketing on holidays?

This number (1-800-975-0913) phones my residence at least 5 to 6 x a day, every day.  No message ever.  It can't be important and I don't believe they know me or a message would be left.  I heard that this # is an advertisement for the Toronto Star.  I don't like being harrassed so it is for sure that I won't be subscribing to this paper.  How does one stop them from calling?  They have no regard for the time of their calls wether it be  day, night or holidays.  Nor do they have any respect for anything else that may be going on in the house.........illness, death, sleeping babies, children.  Is there no way to void these calls?             mg

I just had it happen to me. 1 800 975 0913.  I received a beep beep beep on my computer and then it hung up.  When I called the number back an answering system responds with an "end of the day message call back later".  It is only 0916 (9:16 am).  This leaves me suspicious.  I am running a deep scan on my computers and reporting this to Bell Canada.

I managed to get a real number for Telecom Inc. 800-243-3101, spoke with a gentleman and had my number removed from all their telemarketing number listings which are given out to the marketing groups that they service. 1-800-975-0913 is one of those numbers.

Being in the computer business for 25 years, the original call sounded like phreaking to me, but since y2k all mechanical switches have been replaced with digital switches preventing phreaking.

That being said, watch your next month phone bill and see if any 800 numbers appear that you are suspicious of and notify your Telephone service. Better safe than sorry.

    Have a very merry Christmas.

I have had it! Telemarketers are the most persistent nags on the planet. They need to be regulated.  I no more than speak to Telecom Inc. and I receive a call on my second phone from the same number 1-800-975-0913.  The first call was for a Sun subscription and the second for a Toronto Star. I told tem to save a tree and don't call me again. They removed me from the list. I get my news from the Internet.

You know what sucks? As this is a newspaper soliciting for clients they are excluded from the Canadian Do Not Call List.

Toronto Sun calling selling subscriptions. I've told these people countless times to put me on their 'do not call' list but it doesn't make any difference. They have been unsuccessful in selling me a subscription but highly successful in motivating me to slander the Sun every chance I get.

toronto sun was selling me subscriptions from this number, I didn't bother with do not call, I added them to my telemarketing blacklist, they seem to be selling for national post as well, As I told them I get the star, not interested in any further subscriptions here.

Do not answer if you do not want marketing callers.
