800-999-9999

This is Covenant House a suicide hotline according to Google. I called it once and asked them why they were calling but they said it wasn't them. They said companies use this number to mask who they are.

Yes, companies use numbers like 800-999-9999 and 800-111-1111 to mask who they are so you won't know.

I get calls from this # repeatedly, No message and if I answer no one is there.

(800) 999-9999 is Covenant House's NineLine for youth in crisis. They will not be calling you. A call from this number will be an impostor that has a system to override their caller id  making it look like this number. Just hang up or don't bother to answer.

Seems someone has decided it is time to spoof the number again, just got one ...........blocked.

Called me and said they needed to access my computer.  I told them they were full of s**t and they hung up on me.

called said their from microsoft saying was a problem with my computer. I ask them what was the issue. never got a response.

I just got the same call telling me something wrong with my computer bad thing is I don't have one that works at home and told them they a scam and will report them

I got a call from them and freaked out it might be someone I know in crisis when I learned what the number is.  Thank you for explaining that it is a mask for another caller.

I tried this number in the past (my friend suggested that I tried it since he thought it was cool, odd, creepy, and mysterious - all at the same time). I tried it a few times (my friend and I were in high school at the time - he pranked numbers a lot), and everytime the "worker" would answer the phone (always an asian accent) they'd question "99?"...
