After the 2nd day of them calling me, I called the number back and talked to a lady. They said they are a sales call company that calls for a list of other companies with sales offers. She was polite and agreed to take my number off their call list.  We'll see on that one. Meanwhile I have blocked their number on my phone so the phone will only ring once and then block the call; thanks to Panasonic phones.

They claimed to call from Bank of America, a courtesy call. Called twice today; caller ID showed just Utah

Here we go again and again!!!  Caller ID says Teleperformance.

We are REALLY getting tired of repeated calls from 1-801-297-7811. We will not answer a toll call, and if the caller cannot leave a message,the call must not be important.  Who are these annoying people?

They call a few times a week for the past month.  I never pick up, but it rings only 3 times and they end the call, so it never goes to answering machine

I am in Atlanta, GA and this number came in from SLC, Utah this morning.  I am glad I did a search for this number as I see it's a nusance number.  Whatever happened to the Gov't's "Do NOT call" list???  These guys are getting around this aren't they??  That list is doing little good I see.

I sure hope this is not a sign of things to come.

I received from this number, and the guy said he was calling from Bank of America, and want to send me a package of credit reports.  It was the kind that starts to charge for the service after 30 days.  I said I don't want it this time, and he was sooo pushy, and again, I said "No, I don't want the service this time," then he just sighed and hang up on me!!!

That made me feel suspicious, and I called back the number, the answering machine said "We are currently closed..... Please call back our normal business hour...."  The answering machine didn't even say their company name.

I hope he has no other information of mine.  Talking about I need to check on my credit reports?  He is the kind of person I should be careful of!!

Well, we didn't get you with the BOA scam.... but we'll keep trying your ass. You're bound to fall for SOME [***] one day. We'll keep your number in the database and call later when you forget.

I have received several calls from this number. I thought something was suspicious when they did not bother leaving a message.

I too have been missing calls (intentionally) from this number for a few weeks...I got curious today after repeated missed calls with no voicemail.  Definitely telemarketers...cant confirm/deny TELEPERFORMANCE but that sounds good to me. (one's as annoying as the next...am I right?)

I dont bank with Bank Of America so not sure why/how/who/when/etc...

I too called them back to ask them to remove my number from their calling list.  The rep lethargically asked for my number.  I gladly provided hoping she/they  would comply with my request.  She indicated it could take up to 48hrs...they were setting it for removal in their system.  We shall see....

I got this call and as usual didn't pick up. Caller ID said "Toll Free Call." I write these "800" numbers down and my list is at about a dozen. Supposedly anyone you do business with (such as a bank, or otherwise, has the right to ignore the "Do Not Call" law. So, yes, they have us again. My phone is a home land line.

This 801 number just started calling. I checked this website and immediately blocked it with all my other 800 numbers. Very inconvenient when you're busy and drop everything to run to answer the phone thinking it may be important.

What service do you have that blocks 800 numbers???  I know of none.

We got a call from the same phone number with teleperformance showing up on ID. I was told I was being called because I am a Bank of America customer and there have been complaints of charges being added to accounts. I was offered a package of credit reports free of charge and then would be charged afterward. I asked how much and was told $12.99 a month. I asked where the call was coming from and was told USA. I asked where in the USA and was told Illinois. I could tell that the call was coming from a "boiler room" because there was a lot of background noise. Overall, the caller was rather obnoxious.

I 801-297-7811 I Got a call from this number but I glad I wasn't at home by the time. I read all the comments we have to be careful because you never know who is behind it. I recommend to all you guys that don't provide any information if you get a call from this number.

I got the same as you all. Bank of America, blah blah blah etc.
But I do not really care. Why?

First, I use Skype for all calls, so it costs me almost nothing to receive calls, and Skype address book is unlimited. So I deal with this scum by creating a contact in my address book, naming it "SPAM 1" (2...3...) and adding these numbers. Each contact can carry about 5 numbers, and I usually have no more than one call in a couple of weeks. Currently there is less than 20 numbers I filter out. 1-2 calls is enough to get there. THen, when I see "Spam" calling me, I can either reject the call, or if I am in the mood to have fun, then I have it when I want it and ready for it :)

But if things get worse and you really have HUNDREDS of numbers to filter out, it's time to think about multilevel filtering.

For those of you who are getting annoyed, my advice is to never tell anyone (except family, close friends, maybe colleagues/boss if you trust them) your real phone #.
Yes, not even to bank or IRS - they all are in the same system. Once "information" become a common goodie to trade, there is no privacy anymore. Especially in USA.

So, what number to give them instead?
Get yourself a bunch of free Google Voice numbers and one Skype number (it's not free but fairly cheap). Route as many Google numbers as you want to corresponding Google voice mail boxes, and set them up to be forwarded to your E-mail.
Then set up one free Google number to forward calls to your Skype number.
And set Skype to forward unanswered calls to your real number.

See? Now you have THREE numbers to be called on, and a single line to ring. If you have more lines, the number of your "ghost numbers" multiplies. For each line, TWO extra numbers to give as your home/cell, and the rest (real) number you only give to whom you trust personally. Caller ID's are forwarded with Google and Skype, so if a caller number does not get displayed, it means ID is spoofed or hidden - disregard such a call easily.

Here is the advantage! NONE of your new "ghost numbers" are real. This means they all are DISCARDABLE: drop/replace any time if you get too much unwanted calls to it, and still be in touch for priority calls. And use powerful Google filter to screen out the call, block the known "bad" numbers, along with some other useful tricks.

Here is how the multilevel system works:
- Give the "voicemailed" numbers when you don't care to miss the call.
- Use forwarded numbers to register with bank, IRS, job board or for any other purposes when you don't want to miss the call. If you need to call "from" this number, use Skype and set Caller ID to number you need to be displayed at the moment.
- Add telemarketers to Google voice filters - screen the [***] out!
- When you get too many "bad" calls with now ID and still have some no-ID calls you need to catch, change your "dirty" forwarded number to voicemail-only, get yourself a fresh one and update your registered number where you feel it worth doing so.

It takes some time to set up and get used, but after you done (like me), you have much more power over the calls you received than you ever thought of.

Said number called last night, it's from Bank of America with a credit monitoring service. No thanks, AT&T called me ta month ago o report suspicious activity, so it's not like they don't look out for fraudulent activity anyway. That said, AT&T is not that great either, but at least I trust them more than BOA!

They've been calling for about two weeks.  They call 2-3 times a day.  I never answer.  I'm glad I don't answer, but I agree it's quite annoying.  If Bank of America wants to get a hold of me then they can call directly.

I get two to three calls a day from this number, no message is ever left.  I have nothing to do with BOA and after reading the above, will contact the do not call list and file a complaint against this number.  They really need to make it so that these companies must PAY those of us they bother on the do not call list a fine like $50 for each call, that would stop them presto pronto!
