- Paul| 3 replieswould not identify
- older & wiser| 1 replyBEWARE - three of my family cell phones - all with the same area code and first three digits - received a call from this # within minutes of each other on 4/25/09 at 2 pm edt.
Only one answered to hear an automated system state that in order to "reactivate your debit Mastercard please enter the number as it appears on the front of your card." The trusting family member did as directed and then was asked to enter the expiration date which was done only to be then asked for the pin #.
Realizing that this was not on the up & up, The bank was called and this family member will be issued a new debit card!
I searched online for info and found that the # is out of three areas in Utah. - careful consumer replies to older & wiserI just received the same call. I don't have a Mastercard Debit Card so I hung up.
- kautomated voice instructing me that my Mastercard debit has been restricted. asked for the mastercard number.obviously a scam to get credit card #s!
- Dave| 1 replyAlso got an automated call about my Mastercard being restricted and to reactivate to call a 800 number but I forgot to write it down, but I dont have any Mastercards. Called my cell 314-517-xxxx about 6pm today 4/26/2009.
- SteveI also received a phone call on my cell phone(314-517-xxxx)4/26, 6:01 PM CDT) in which a computer-generated voice ominously warned that my MasterCard would be restricted for debit card shopping purposes if I did not follow instructions. Since I do not have a MasterCard debit card, I hung up.
- Bryan replies to DaveI just got the same call... 314-517 -XXXX and asked the same thing. Watch out.
- MikeAt 6:14 we got a call to our 314-517-xxxx number. The number belongs to a company - www.attask.com and we left them an email telling them to call their local FBI. We are also calling the FBI to report it -- you guys should do the same.
- Caller: Attask.com (if from true owner)
- Call type: Unwanted
- KatieJust got a call from them but I didn't pick up. These idiots must be busy on a sunday night. I called the number back but got some automated company directory for attask (whoever they are).
- Call type: Unwanted
- anonJust got one. 314-518-xxxx. Creepy!
- anonThe 800 number they ask you to call is 800-876-7357. It is the same automated voice.
- annoyedI too got a call from this number at 7:44pm tonight. My number also starts with 314-518-xxxx. There has got to be a way to catch these people.
- urbngdss replies to Paul| 1 replyI got a missed call from this number today...my number is 314-517-xxxx. It must be an autodialer... wonder how many area codes and numbers they have gone through already. I know that all 314-517-xxxx's are sprint cell. Sprint will be notified of this scam as soon as I log off of here...as well as local law enforcement, and FBI.
- save a buck chuckReceived similar calls on our two cells Saturday afternoon 4-25-09. Did not act upon. I am calling Mastercard as well to complain/warn them.
- Caller: no name 801-373-3266
- OMG - What's Is Going On??Received a call from the same # listed above around 1:24 pm cst on Saturday. Same automated message, try to press "0" with no success, hung up and called the 801 # and got the same company as everyone is indicating.
The big kicker is my cell # 314-7XX-XXXX not close to the other cell phone called. So it's just not Sprint customers.
As you might know....Mastercard is located in UT....go figure! - Rob replies to urbngdssI also have a 314-517-xxxx number, and received the call from 801-373-3266 at 6:14 PM ET on April 26, 2009.
- Stupid PeopleI called this number back. They were really nice and explained it was someone illegally using their name and phone number to scam everyone. The FBI is involved. If you get a call, don't even give your credit card info out. Contact your credit card company directly if you have any questions or concerns. You can also contact 1 of the 3 major credit bureau's.
- Caller: AtTask, Inc
- kkUmmm
Wanted to let you know that I just received a call from this number...no one at the other end. Called the number back and get a voice mail that says they are At Task.... - meghanThis is actually the number of a project management company called At Task, a legitimate business. But apparently someone is using the # to scam people. Unless you have done business with them, or gone on to their website, there should be no reason for them to call you, especially asking for CC info!
- Caller: At Task
- Alex FordThis is a company called attask (attask.com). They sell project management software. They called me because i viewed a demo video on their site.
- Caller: attask
