This person called me, and i have no idea who it is. A Trace on the area code shows it originates from the Utah area, yet I know nobody in Utah. What gives?

I rec'd the call on my company cell phone; I know a few people in Utah, but they don't know my company cell number

Picked up (there was a + on my caller ID before the 801 area code) and heard what sounded like a pre-recorded message... in Spanish.

I got the same call. Who are they? How did they get my number?

got the same call just now.  It is in Spanish.  I am not sure what it says as I don;t speak the language.

saw it in my caller id on my blackberry in the form +8014101098 calling it back from t-mobile in WA state I get a message that it cannot be completed as dialed. If I dial a 1 first though, I get through to a recorded voice speaking English, that says it is a "travel related call and I will be contacted again shortly". It tries to get input from the caller and then disconnects after a short amount of time.

I, too got a call from this number.  It was on my "missed calls" list.
I don't know anyone in Utah.  In fact nobody has my cell phone number
except my brother.  I only use it for personal emergencies for security
when I'm alone in my car or travelling out of town.  So, it has to be
a spam or some other type of prank caller.

Plenty of people are getting calls from this number today. Didn't pick it up.

I got called at 1:50 CST.  I didn't return the call.  As for originating in Utah, don't rely on the area code for much.  Anyone with a VOIP phone can call from anywhere in the world using a UTAH area code -- or any other area code for that matter.  With VOIP, area codes are no longer fixed indicators of locations.

Can't the FCC do anything about unwanted and unsolicited calls? I would think that the first cell phone company to automatically block this cr*p would get a lot of business.

I received a call from this person in Spanish and from what I could understand was that it said they had my sister and wanted a ransom. My friend later confirmed that his family also got a call and was nearly scammed until they found out that their family member was safe. I called my sister to make sure she was safe and she was. Whoever this is, I hope they get caught. The call was around 1:25pm CST

well, i got a strange number on my cell i didnt answer, i decided to google it +8014101098 and i find this web page lol with all the comments, and strange how so many people get the same strange call. they left no voicemail, and i texted back to it saying "who are you?" and no answer. so i dunno, looked like an international call with the (+) in front.

I got a call a short while ago too and my wife got a call from the same +8014101098 number. The + sign I believe indicates international calling.  Could it have to do with cell phone roaming. I was just returned from South America and was set up so I could call the USA, which btw was impossible. How do we follow this up and I am on the "DO NOT CALL" list for both land and cell phones. We know no one from outside the USA that has our numbers.

Just got this call, do not speak Spanish so I only recognized the final word "dinero."

Just received the call and  called it back. Apparently it's some type of travel agency attempting to sell a trip of some sort! If you want to be removed you have to press 1 then enter your phone number. No thanks because then the calls will never stop!

I also got a call from this number, don't know anyone in Utah. Did not answer, showed as missed call.

No message, didn't answer....also has the + sign before number.  Annoying.

Same here -- It sounded like the last two words were "tu dinero".  I suppose it was probably Republicans trying to stir fear in the Mexican community that Obama is going to deport them and take their money.  Just a guess.
