Claimed to be Law Office but used very illegal and threatening language. Threatened to have sherriff arrest me for debt (NO SUCH ANIMAL IN UNITED STATES!!!) Demanded full payment immediately or I would be arrested! Definately a Scam Artist!!!

Someone named Tawnie called from this office first claiming to be a debt collection service trying to collect a debt from 2001.  I knew this "debt" was really just a credit card (not in collections) that I had paid off in 2002 when I sold property.  She claimed the debt was for $1200 but after legal fees I would be responsible for $2200.  then a few minutes later she said that "the lawyer" would accept a settlement for $800 if I would pay by the end of the month.  Somehow the entire amount moved to $3000 when they ofrwarded my file to an "asset investigator" who called and said the total amount would be $3200.  they should at least get their scam correct.  They are now threatening to contact my neighbors, place of employment, and relatives.  All for a debt I never have owed.  I'm considering taking legal action against them. The caller ID stated the phobe number was 801-466-2130 with the call back number left as 866-507-5050.

The "Tracy Paul" scam pops up here from time to time. You'll see that one message in the 866-507-5050 thread says that "Tracy Paul" is someone named Ryan Baker doing business behind the name Arches Financial in Utah.  But knowing how these debt collector crooks work, I would bet that "Ryan Baker" is a pseudonym, too.  Another message in that thread shows the results of a WhoIs search on the suddenly missing Arches Financial website. Here's Arches' address as listed on WhoIs:

Even more interesting is this federal lawsuit brought by several people against "Tracy Paul" http://dockets.justia.com/docket/court-moedce ... /case_id-65173/ I don't know if it's the same Tracy Paul, but the suit was filed over a question of fair debt collection. So what are they odds that it's a different Tracy Paul?  If I had to guess, I'd say that Gillette and Paul, Tracy Paul, Ryan Barker and Arches Financial are all connected.

I JUST RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THESE PEOPLE AND A LADY NAMED SHANTEL LEFT A MESSAGE STATING THEIR WAS A PENDING LAWSUITE AGAINST ME AND THAT I NEEDED TO CALL THEM BACK IN REGAURDS TO THIS MATTER. AND I SHOULD NOT HER CALLING AS A COLLECTION CALL. I THOUGHT THIS SOUNDED STRANGE SO I LOOKED THE NUMBER AND FOUND THIS SITE BEFORE RETURNING THE PHONE CALL. I GUESS I WILL SAVE MYSELF THE TROUBLE OF EVEN CALL BACK.

I just got served a for court. I sent these people a C&D verification letter from another site and now I am getting sued! They have original docs showing my signature. Now what?

Do you have a significant debt that hasn't been paid?  What state do you live in?  I am worried this is going to happen to us... although I don't even know why they are calling.

I too have recieved these calls. I do not respond to phone calls from individuals I do not know. If they have my phone number, they have my address so they can write me. If there is a credit dispute then we will use paper as a median to settle the matter. Now they have called me place of employment. I guess that means I will have no choice but to accept a judgement against me regaurding a $700.00 debt which was awarded to my ex in a divorce because I will not be paying. I do not care what type of scare tactics they choose to employ. I will not be bullied or scared into submission from someone who does not want to play by the rules.

I have been getting calls saying that I have a legal matter pending against me. I know for a fact that the last payment date on the credit card account as of this month is 7 years old. They tried saying "if we dont hear from you by tomorrow close of business we will give the case to the lawyer". I know debt collectors are suppose to announce that they are calling in attempt to collect a debt, but come on. The were calling my cell and then turned around and called my step-dads home office line and claimed "it was the only number they had to contact me that was on my file". That is bull! I created that debt in another state before I even knew his work number!! They are just out to try to intimidate people who dont know about SoL into paying! I got a call from a "Shelly" a few months ago. I told her to send me proof of the debt. I told her to not call me back unless she can provide evidence  . I just received copies of statements for 17 months. Now what? The account does not run out of stat for 13 more months. I dont want to be sued.

I too received a call/message from this supposed law firm of Tracy Paul.....only we are NEIGHBORS of the person they are trying to reach. They went so far as to ask if we would forward the message to them; leave a note on their door,etc...Our number is not listed.  How did these people get OUR phone ## ????  They didn't know our name and our answering machine does not give it.....but they obviously had our number and we are indeed the person in question's neighbors.......I'm glad I researched and found these before I called them back or told my neighbor.  Confirms my suspicions of something being 'fishy'  Thanks!

i too have been harassed by the Tracy paul law firm.  They have called my neighbors to leave a message for me even when i returned their calls and told them my number of contact.  They called me about an 8 year old debt, and i know that is already dismissed.  these people are ruthless and try to intimidate you to no end.  he even went so far as to tell me that i needed to be responsible.

Received a message from this number this morning.  "Tara" reported they were looking for Robert Easton, but I didn't recognize the name. She said it was regarding a lawsuit against this gentleman and to call back at 1-866-507-5050 x: 4001.  Seemed fishy!

Just received a call from somebody saying they were from tracy paul law offices and asking for "kay" and the same last name as mine. I said there was no such person related to me and they badgered me and I once again said I knew of no such person then they tried to tell me I must be confused. They did not mention that this was an attempt to collect a debt and they were pressing for information on this "kay" person.

I recieved a letter from them. So I called 1-866-507-5050 ext4005. I caught them in so many lies. They gave me an adress that i have not lived at in over 10 years, stating that's where the account was open. Plus it has been over 5 years since this so called account was opened. When i was argueing with them they had the nerve torun my credit without my approval. As I was getting into the ****, the woman(Sadie) was so clamming up and could not answer any questions without putting me on hold. Meaning, she had toget some help. Plus the account was closed in a couple of months.

A man named "Manny" has called my house several times stating that he is from Paul Law Office. He was calling 2-3 times a day. I didn't know who he was or what he wanted. Then I find out he has called my neighbors, my job, and my mother. He tells my mother she raised an irresposible child and that the debt is for over $11,000, but that if she will pay it he'll take $5,000. He tells her that I'm in big trouble for stealing. She is eldery and is now freaking out-thinking that I'm going to jail or something. Luckily the irresponsible child statement ticked her off and she hung up on him. [***]. I'm not sure if this is illegal, but it's definately mean and hateful! I've tried to call this jerk.. nothing but voicemail.

FYI you can NOT be arrested for a debt. The short explaniation is that his is an attempt at extortion and you should contact  the FBI, U.S. Attorney because they are using phone lines) as well as your local Police and District Attorney. I would suggest that you not only call them but put something in writing. This sounds as if it is in fact a crime.

While I have never been contacted by the Paul Firm I am intrested. Anyone know where they're located? Is there a Tracy Paul? I do a lot of legal research and intrest is rising in these guys. I'd love to know if they have any assests. Think class action

Got the same call from Tracy Paul Law firm, yada, yada, regarding my Sister-in-Law. Before I call my SIL up and chew her out for giving out our home #, how did they get OUR number? Did she really give it to them? Our name is about as common as John Smith, so I'm thinking she's using our phone number???
