Caller ID states "May Randy M", which is a clear indication of a scammer using a spoofed phone number.  Caller did not leave a message and is now added to my blocked list.

They called twice.  Didn't answer either time.  Blocked.

9/8/16 - marked Harassing since unknown person obviously making random calls. CALLER ID: Randy M. May.
Is only ONE person by that name in Utah, per a quick online check. Mr. May is age 64 and this is his landline at this address: 1226 Dr Spring Ridge, Sandy, UT 84094-5732 which appears to be a home (you can see a photo online).
=> We let the unknown caller roll to our answering service where Mr. May said nothing but clearly was "there" and took up the duration of allotted message time.
=> Local police traced call; Mr. May will not be bothering us again.
=> Another site shows he uses his number as a "bot".

9/8/2016 - 801-571-9875 marked as Harassing since we Picked up line but no one answered. Called back and line had been "disconnected".

9/8/2016 - marked 801-571-9875 as Dangerous. Telemarketer.

9/2/16 -  801-571-9875 marked as Unknown because Caller on my cell phone asked for someone by different name. Hung up on me when I told him wrong number.

9/2/2016 -  8015719875 marked as Dangerous. They park in the neighborhood go on the Internet, then start making phone calls asking all kinds of questions. "John" drives a white suburban and sits around each neighborhood for a little less than an hour. Keep an eye out and call in a report to local police. Also, get license number for the police, so we can make sure it's same creep.

9/1/2016 - 801-571-9875 marked as Harassing today and a couple of days prior as they called several times in June and July. I informed them in June I was not interested in solar and that I was on the do not call list and not to call again. That did not work as they continue to call.

9/1/2016 - 801-571-9875 marked as Harassing because Caller said the man claimed to be a solar power company. When my daughter told him she was not allowed to answer questions about the home because she was only 18, he asked if she was alone and if they could be "friends". She immediately hung up.

9/1/16 - Answered and requested they add me to their "DNC" list.

Called and I answered on 2nd or 3rd ring. I could tell that my answer hadn't connected to a live person so know it's one of those call centers that doesn't connect you to a live body until you've said "hello" a second time, which I no longer do. It quickly disconnected completely, a confirmation that's what it is. I've blocked the number. What frustrates me is that I have a limited # of calls I can block and I have to regularly clear some of the older ones out to make room for new ones.

Call me and said he was calling from Salt Lake USA. I ask him what state a salt Lake was in and he said California. I told him he was wrong and he hung up.

I hate scammers as much as the rest, but honestly, you need a better hobby.  LOL

Just received another call from this number this morning and noticed the caller ID now comes up as Midvale, UT.  Perhaps Mr. Randy M. May (the REAL Randy May) got wind of the fact that his number was being used by a phone scammer and put a stop to it.
