Received a call today from a "service technician"  claiming to be from Xcel Energy our local electric company.  I questioned him, since the call came from Provo, UT on the Caller ID.  He claimed he was from Minneapolis and was going to come out within the hour to "serve us" our final notice.  He would not give me his supervisor name and what is funny is that Xcel business office people do not work on weekends according to their message when you call them.  Total scam all the way, but the guy was smooth.  What a con artist!  I called Xcel's business office and let a long detailed message asking them what I should do about this scammer.  I am waiting for their response on Monday.

Scammers calling saying they are from Rocky Mountain Power, saying your account is in "RED FLAG".

Guys name was Mike Emry(When I asked for it). Supervisors name was BRIAN WATSON. Called the number back and he answered with his name being "Charles".

801-615-5054 was the number he gave me...

Scam call claiming to be from Rocky Mountain Power and the same "red flag" B.S. Wanted me to go wire money from Rite Aid or power would be shut off in an hour. Called them on lying and they became belligerent. Tell them to [***].

Xcel representative called me on Monday morning after I left a long detailed message on Saturday.  They are very concerned about this scam and are working very hard to educate their customers about these con artists.  I gave her all the details I could, she was particularly interested if they gave me a dollar amount I owed.  I told her I didn't let him get that far, since I know all my bills were paid on time.  Again, be very careful, they give out names, badge I.D.s and use identical prompts are the electric company, if you call them back.
