They left a message saying someone named Michael W opened an account, but because they hadn't heard from him, they called me because he'd put me down as an alternate contact. I don't know anyone named Michael W, or how they got my name and phone number.

progressive finance.... don't know what it is because I've never used them before.

They've called me many times. Say they're Progressive Finance. I've never heard of them. I answer the phone every time. The first time they called me, they said they were trying to get a hold of a Steve Harrington and he had listed me as a reference and were wanting a number to get in touch with him. I kindly told them they were mistaken, I didn't know a Steve Harrington. The woman apologized and hung up quickly. But the calls kept coming. Every few days. When I'd answer though, no one would be on the other line. I was so fed up with it, after two weeks, I called the number back. And they wanted me to give out MY information to look up my account. EXCUSE ME! I don't have an account with YOU! I finally got in touch with a "supervisor" who could not find my cell phone number or first name in any of her records... hmm. Interesting. How come your people keep calling me then? She explained that sometimes people write down phony numbers as references to get loans. Okay. I believed it. She said my number would be taken out of their database. A week went by, no phone calls. Thank God. Then, here we go again. Another call. The woman starts again, saying they are trying to reach a Janel Martin who had listed me as a reference and they wanted to know if I knew another number to reach her. I don't know who these people are! This is getting ridiculous! Next call I get, and I'm going to the police for harassment! Either someone's stolen my personal info (which would've popped up on my credit monitoring) or they're trying to get something out of me! I'm sick of these people!

8017368445- is a furniture finance company. They work with various, usually small furniture places. When a customer go to buy furniture they have the option of either pay upfront or finance with a company like Progressive Finance. (I don't know if they finance other things). Then customer then has to fill out an application, which includes a long reference sheet. (like when you're buying a car). If the customer defaults on payment and can't be located, you become they're point of harassment.

Call was from Progressive Finance. I used their leasing service for furniture that I bought from a local store. They were returning a call I made the day before. Not certain if this is the same number they use to handle debts, although I would assume it is.

They finance items like Furniture, electronics, tires and wheels etc.  They are real company.  You are getting a call because someone either put you as a reference when they financed some items or you gave them your number to call you.  They aren't telemarketing or anything like that.

They call everyday around 7 pm!! Don't know who this is
