This is Discover Card Calling

My FTC complaint:

"They have been calling been calling me at my home phone several times a day for the greater part of the past week. I have had this number for over 3 years now. My phone would ring several times; sometimes setting off the answering machine and sometimes not. When I would check the caller ID displays for these calls it would display: "Utah" on line one and "801-902-2429" on line two.  They usually hang up before the answering machine.

"On Friday, November 14th, they had called once early in the morning; setting off my answering machine but not leaving a message. They called again, several hours later and I was able to catch the call. After saying "hello" several times I was addressed by a name other than my own; I believe the name might have been "****" or "****". I told the caller that there was no one with that name at this household and that I was the owner of this phone number. I told the caller that this was not the first time I had received calls from his phone number, that I had received several calls a day from that number for the past few days and that the calls were annoying and disruptive to me. He proceeded to tell me that they had every right to make the calls because he was a bill collector and not a telemarketer. He finally told me that I WOULD NOT BE CALLED anymore; that my number would be removed from a data file and placed on a do not call list. I have SINCE RECEIVED ANOTHER CALL from this number today, November 11th, at ****.

discover card has been calling my home several times a day for 4 5 days. i do not have a discover card and dont want one.

My business has been receiving calls daily, many often times more than 2 times a day, for quite a while now. Every time I pick up the phone, there is no one there, and it has become quite annoying. I'd just like them to stop calling or just identify who they are.

This is Discover Card also 801-902-2429. They are persistant, whether you want to talk to them or not!

These calls are not coming from Discover Card but are spoof calls from Portfolio Recovery Associates, 120 Corporate Blvd. Norfolk, VA 23502. PRA does have offices in Salt Lake City, UT where these calls are coming from. Please file a criminal complaint for harassing and stalking with the US Justice Dept, Att Steven Curran, Deputy Chief, 950 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Criminal Division, PHB, Washington, DC 20530. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to CEO Steven Fredrickson and Portfolio Recovery A**holes. The rattlesnake is now in your backyard; look and see wimps.

I have contacted the FTC and the FCC (and I will continue to do so every time I get a call from Discover)to report repeated telephone calls from Discover looking for someone I have never heard of. This is irresponsible corporate citizenship and rconsumers should not be subjected to their abuse of the communications systems.

This number calls us 4 or 5 times a day.  We changed our phone number 20+ years ago.  This company is looking for the people who had the phone number before we did.  We have repeatedly asked them to remove our number from their database and they say they will - but never do it.  I just filed a complaint with the FTC and I'm about to file one with the BBB.

I have been receiving 3 - 4 calls per day on my cell phone from 801-902-2429.  I do not answer because then I would have to pay for the call.  I just want it to stop.

This is NOT Discover Card...when asked to speak to a supervisor they hung up on me...I wasn't going to make a payment over the phone or on their website, which they were very persistent about, they said that they raised my interest rate by 15% I got very upset and when the supervisor got on the phone and I started to complain they hung up...Plus they never asked to verify home address phone number or SSN which when you call all credit cards they do ask that info.

I seriously have this number call my cell phone at least 6 times a day. They leave voicemails every now and then but they are cut off... they start in the middle of someone talking and it sounds real sketchy. I'm just not going to answer these freaks.

They called me asking for someone other than me. I told them they had the wrong #, n said not to call me anymore. There was no hassle, but they did call me twice in a day. Don't ever give anyone your personal information. Just hang up!

they call my MOBILE number at the same time every day, but never leave a message. If I could manage to catch the phone when it's ringing, I'd tell them to fsck off.

this number has called me 13 times in the last 4 days and triggered my voicemail twice, identifying themselves as either discover card or discover financial services, how the f did they get my number. what sucks more is that i have a prepaid cell phone so i dont want to pick it up just to have them hang up on me, which they have done. i dont have a discover card and i never give my cell number on any form or survey. they usually wake me up when they call for the first time each day too

Recd a very vague call from 801-902-2429 from a person looking for a relative from another state.  They said that they were calling from Discover Card and asked to have the person call them at 1-800-347-3397.

They have been calling my cell once an hour all weekend.  They leave a pre-recorded message telling me to call back.  How can I make them stop calling?

I have been getting calls from the above phone number for
several weeks. They wake me up before 8am every morning and
call every 30 to 60 minutes all day long, 7 days a week. They don't even take Sundays off. They call me at work also
several times a day and leave messages with whoever happens
to answer. They call themselves "Discover Financial Services". They call into the night.I don't ever answer their calls, but do have to go look at the Caller ID. I am in the process of reporting this matter to the proper authorities.

I called the main Discover number 1-800-DISCOVER and the person I spoke to DID confirm that this number WAS a Discover number. He said it was a branch that handled accounts or whatever. Apparently my payment was a few days late.
