It allow you to block all numbers from a given area code as well as several other options. Mr. Number keeps a data base of numbers that have been reported as spam and automatically blocks them. .

- Caller: "Cardholders Services"
- TonyIt looks like Roy M Cox and Card Services has moved to Vermont. I called it back, pressed 5, and left my Congressman's and/or Senator's local office's ph#. Maybe that'll generate some heat in getting the FTC to move faster in shutting down Cox's operation.

- Fisherman| 1 replyin these harden times, people are hording their time and minutes, so i believe phone companies are using this spam method to force you to use up your time. i have roll over minutes every month and since this has started in the last 2 years, i have fewer and fewer minutes that roll over.
Contact the FCC and file a complaint, the phone company will charge you to block each phone number individually, its a money maker for the phone companies, and since land lines are being made obsolete, and charges and fees are going up, you can bet it will only get worse. Protect you land lines and file a complaint with your congressman and senators, you loose your land lines, you fall mercy to the telephone companies which controll all communications. Ever notice how the bills keep going up and service improves little to none.
Think about it. even if they are only less than 30 seconds, you still loose the time.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Annoyed| 2 repliesSecond call today. I was called earlier from a different phone number. 617-390-4562. Sick of getting these calls. This time, I pressed 1 and was nice to them to see if I could get them to leave me alone that way. I told them I paid my credit cards off about a year ago. He jerk hung up on me before I could finish my sentence.
Looks like I have to file another report on donotcall.gov- Caller: Card Services

- Andy replies to AnnoyedI took advice and pressed 5 when I got their voice mail. I entered the other number provided for them 617-390-4562 -- let them have fun calling themselves. Hopefully, this will stop them from calling me, as I'm getting 3-4 calls a day from them.
- AtomicAJ| 2 repliesI got a pre-recorded phone call from 802-230-6357 today at about 10:28 AM PDT. The recording identified herself as "Rachael with Cardholder Services" and told me that there was an urgent matter with my account, but that this urgent matter was not a problem. The only option was to press 1 to be connected to a representative about lowering my interest rate. I pressed one, and the guy who answered asked if I pressed 1 to get a lower rate on my account. I told him that I would like for him to stop calling me and he hung up on me instantly.
These people call me every single day, often twice or three times a day. I get more phone calls from them that I get legitimate phone calls. Something has GOT to be done. Blocking phone numbers (or even area codes) doesn't work because they change their numbers and area codes frequently. They also spoof their Caller ID. The Caller ID number usually isn't even a valid number.
If I could trace these people I would.- Caller: Cardholder Service

Typical scam behavior as others describe. I get these calls on both the cell phone and home phone, at least 1-2 times per day. The numbers on the caller ID may be fake, but I am actively pursuing ways to trace their calls with the assistance of the FCC.
If you get a call from ANY person saying "I'm with Card Services", or "Card Member Services" or any other darned thing that makes it sound like they're calling you about your credit cards, they're fake - that simple. If you have EVER had a credit card, you already know that they NEVER call you to offer specials rates. The information will only come by mail or if YOU initiate the call.
So.. the lesson is "They're ALL fakes. Just hang up because they'll keep trying if they think you're stupid enough to listen to them." They may keep calling no matter what you do, unless the FCC starts actually enforcing Federal laws.- Caller: FAKE - calls themselves "Card Services"

they called 5 min after the 617 call when I didnt answer either, saw the number on my ID and knew it was THESE RECHED LEECHES!! I have decided NEXT time they call (surely by this afternoon) I will answer and simply say I WON the lottery and now have millions so no need to call back!
Do NOT call has so many of these numbers as I get them I report them but it seems to be a waste of time since they do not do a thing... - Anonym replies to AtomicAJMe too!!! I started saving the numbers in my phone as spam! I've been hung up twice today!!
- Mark| 6 repliesSame as all the rest. The FCC does not seem to be getting anywhere with these spam calls. If it's not possible to stop the calls, we should at least stop paying the people at the Do Not Call Resgistry. Call your congressmen and senators.
I believe they should also go after the phone providers for numbers that are identified as spammers that call numbers on the Do Not Call List. If you fined them as accomplices, maybe these could be shut down.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Not telling my name, but...| 4 repliesThese people are harassing me on a daily basis! I'm sick of this shiat and the number they call is my cell phone, which is registered with the Do Not Call list. I've filed complaint, after complaint. It seems these companies just start a new phone number and then start spamming you from another one. This is lame and needs to end!
- Caller: Unknown pain in the ass.
- Ruf| 2 repliesAsking or begging telemarketers to stop calling does not work.
Attempting to contact them is impossible.
Filing a complaint with the FTC takes years.
Getting angry or upset just makes it worse.
Complaining on message boards accomplishes nothing.
You have two options:
1. Ignore the calls and continue to be harassed.
or
2. Answer the call, pretend you're interested and WASTE THEIR TIME.
Wasting their time is effective because it disrupts their scam and annoys them. - RufAsking or begging telemarketers to stop calling does not work.
