These sort of scams have been going on for years, no need to make it political because it serve no purpose to the discussion except to stir the pot.

Same scam outfit, different name and number.  No good trying to block because they just change numbers and names.  Do Not Call list won't work on these kind of calls because they entity behind them ignores the list and continues to spoof CallerID.

Same robocall for medic alert type device. Took the call, obvious call center, blew a whistle in her ear, her response was, "You're funny.".  Sorry now that I didn't eat up more of her time!

I talked ot them for a while to see who they are, they have harassed me for  a year now, every day of week.   I got the callers supervisor on the line, she told me that they were with lifewatch.  She said if I went to lifewatch.com I could get more info, after I had refused to talk to her till I saw a website. I dont know if she was lying or not.

Spoofed number from Albany, VT robocalling again about medical alert device.  I've been playing with these jokers for about a year and they call several times a week. At first, you just ignore the calls--they've never left a message on my machine.  Then you decide to waste their time and mess with them.  Last guy I spoke with I inquired if he was actively supporting a drug habit.  Confused, he ask me what that meant.  I told him why would anyone be so desperate to work in a call center making illegal and harassing calls to the public---there had to be something in it for him.  He promptly and very quietly under his breath called me an SOB (so as not to be overheard by his handlers) and hung up.  Talk about a group of classless, lazy, and unethical human trash.  They're so fun to mess with, it's a hoot!

There is an effort being made by Consumers Union (they publish Consumer Reports). The effort is a petition to hold the phone companies responsible (at last!) for these phone calls since they do not screen scammers and are making money off their harassing telephone robo calls to consumers.

The petition is to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) to take action to get the phone companies to at least offer free number blockers through their phone system.

Signing the petition is sure to help. Consumers Union has clout because of the numbers.

Please go to www.EndRobocalls.org to end the madness, harassment and scams.

    True, I've signed the petition.
They are also gathering members to test various call blocking devices and services.
If you have the time, check out their website and sign the petition.

Every time they call, I wait for a live person and then say, "HELP!  HELP!  I HAVE FALLEN AND CANNOT GET UP!"  They disconnect every time.

I used a digital recorder to catch myself passing gas after a heavy Mexican meal to play for the unfortunate live person who finally comes on line. It's about 15 minutes of various farts that I put on the computer next to the phone & can be played over and over while I keep them on the line as long as possible or tell them to hold while I wipe.
