These guys keep calling non stop at least once or twice a day. When you call back it says this is a number that is no longer in use.

My cell phone rings this number shows on the caller id they hang up before i can answer and when i try to call back the operator says that the number is diconnected. its really irritating.

I think this a FFF using multiple numbers.  I have had about 4 or 5 different ones come up...I don't answer them and they don't leave a message.

I googled this number after seeing it on Caller ID, and was able to determine it is located in Vermont. While this is the first call I've received from this number, it is the 4th of its kind this week alone.

I just got a call from this number as well while I was at work.  The answering machine has a blank sound to it and than a hangup.  I also get 'The Number You Have Reached Is Not In Service' message when I call it.

A person asked to confirm my name. Upon confirmation, a recording came on and said that my bank accounts were empty. No way to contact the phone number or is it associated with any bank I deal with.

The phone number was 1-802-681-4148.

Option 8 & 9.
The announcement NEVER identified which card.
I choose the option to not be called again.
The recording said I had been removed and thanked me.

Since I'm not in Vermont or even in country, I'm pretty sure this is some form of scam, be very careful.

July 11, 2007.  I was called by this 802-681-4148 number just a few minutes ago.  I did not answer as I thought it was BS.  I googled this number and got this forum.  I am certainly glad I did not answer as reading the other postings.  They called on my cell phone and since it cost minutes I am more selective when answering the phone.  You can not trust these numbers at all.  By even answering, they now know that the number is connected to someone and can keep harassing you.  Most likely they will use another 1-800 number.

Advice:  If you have caller ID... just do not answer.  Then check your voice mail.

I just received a call from these ppl to lower my interest rates. When the phone was answered by myself there was talking in the backround and finally they responded ...when I asked what credit card he was talking about he said "all of them" I said I would call my card company myself ...AND THE [***] HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!! So irritating...don't answer this call!!

I got a call from this number.  I asked a few questions and then suggested that using a company name like "Account Services" was misleading and dishonest, he hung up on me.  However I stayed on the line and soon heard a phone ringing.  I think I was listening in on the next call the automated system made, I tried to talk to the whoever answered but it seemed like they could not hear me.  Seems like a scam.

I keep getting calls from this number also.  There HAS to be something we can do about this NONSENSE!!!  Glad I am not the only one.  It happens ALL the time....several times a week.

just received a phone call from802-681-4148, I beleive it is from Allied Interstate - National City Bank turned my husband over when he refused to pay their outrageous overdraft fees and filed a dispute.  Since then Nat. City erased the fees but did nothing about Allied.  We turned them over to the FTC for phone harrassment and also turned over Ntl City to U.S. Comptroller, State Banking Authorites and FTC and South Dakota Banking Division that oversee state chrtered banks.  We provided Allied with proof that Ntl City deleted the charhed but they continue to harrass (All over $225.00)  I ask all of you on this sight - have you received anything from Allied Interstate?  Or maybe allied turned our names over to someone else!

They keep calling to say I won a cruise.  If you press 8 to have them not call again it does no use.

Same thing as "Lucky" above.  Supposedly won a free trip, and since there didn't appear to be a human being on the line to talk to, I just hung up.

They even call us in Canada. A recording told me I had won a trip to Cuba or something, and to press 9 to claim my prize. A female answered by saying Hello? (very professional, huh?). I told her I'd asked to be removed from their sucker list three times, and may I speak to someone that can make that happen? She said "What list". I replied "Sucker list, or what ever list I'm on that keeps dialing my number". She said "Okay" rather rudely, and simply hung up. Too bad the wait time after pressing 9 was only a few seconds. I only wasted less than a minute of their time.

Next time I'll string them along until they ask for personal information. Maybe then they'll get a clue.

This Number Was displayed.  Was told I won a trip.  Operator cursed me then hung up on me when I wanted my phone number removed from their call list.
