I posted an item for sale on craigslist and this number wanted to pay for the item plus and additional amount that I needed to use to pay his "mover" to pick it up.

This is a scam. The cashiers check he will send you is a fake but it's such a good fake that the average bank teller won't be able to tell it's fake. You deposit the check, withdraw the mover's fee in cash, and give your item and the cash to the "mover" when he shows up. The criminals will get your item and fee in exchange for a fancy fraudulent check and you may be prosecuted for passing a bad check. Stay away. This is a scam.

Just got a text message about an item I'm selling on a classified ad. SOOOO glad I googled the number before answering anymore questions!!! Told them "Oh....I forgot to mention....I don't do deals with scammers!" HA!! Thank you!!!!!!!

Got a text from this number from a guy calling himself Roger.  He pulled the same deal, he would send a cashiers check and then would send a mover.  I responded that I did not deal with scammers and he sent a profane response.  Beware!  And thanks for everyone who made the prior posts to help me avoid being taken by this jerk!

Yup. Same thing here. At first he texted just he would send a certified check USPS and pick it up after it cleared, so I gave him my address, and then he used the extra money for the movers story. I told him that it sounded a little weird but I would accept paypal or cash and he said "good day"  He used the name Roger

Scam artist calling trying to "purchase" my item im selling on craigslist. He says he'll send a certified check and i would have to cash it take out my amount then pay his mover's. SCAM BEWARE!!!!

Oh good thing I found this page. The same guy text my fiancé  about our craigslist add saying the same stuff. I already knew something was fishy.

The same story about check & movers.  He says he's deaf. I'm reporting this [***] to FBI.
