803-737-9998

I've received several calls in the last week or so, originating from 737-9998.  Presumably from area code 803, although no area code shows on Caller ID.  I answer the phone, say "Hello," and whoever is calling hangs up without saying a word.  Caller ID indicates the calls are made from a "SC State Govt" phone.

calling at least 10 times a day and not saying anyting ,except one time calling me ugly and old

I also received a call from this number twice, but when you call back, the line is busy!

This number is for the Lee Correctional Facility in Bishopville SC.  When staff calls out, this is the line they use.  You cannot call this number back.

The number called my house and cell phone. When I call back it is busy. I looked up the Lee Correntional Facility and that number is not listed. It did show on my house phone as SC State Govt on the caller ID. I think it is a set up and I am going to alert the police dept. to see if they know anything.

Received 2 calls back to back to my cell phone today from  803-737-9998  both calls went to voice mail each one had a clicking sound recorded.

this is a South Carolina State Department call out display number the number cannot be called back it is used whatever the South Carolina State Department utilizes a certain phone system to contact an individual from within the department from a departmental phone
