- notsureI recieved a phone call from this company at my work. They called three times before I even got into work. When I did call them back the guy (with a thick accent) told me that I had 3 pending charges against me and that I was facing charges for Theft, bank fraud, and something else I don't remember. I asked them for what and they said that it was from a loan that I took back in December 2010 for $300.00 and I never paid it back. I asked them to send me a formal letter and he responded that, that was not going to happen. I asked for formal documentation and I was sure what he was talking about. He said that I had to pay them $625.00 now to settle out of court. I asked for the paperwork that was submitted for the loan and he said that he did not need to provide me with anything. I told him that I needed to talk to his manager and he told me not to get an attitude with him. I explained that I was just trying to get to the bottom of this, He responded that if I did not pay that they would file the charges and I would be aressted at work. I hung up on him and they called right back. They then asked for my manager and I asked why, he said so he could let the manager know that he had a thief working for him. I refused and hung up on him again. He calle right back. This continued for about 20 calls. During those call he threatened to visit my home to collect and to put my husband in the hospital. He called me several names and threatened me in several different ways. I was shooken up and scared. I was told to call my local police dept. and to put a fraud alert on my credit report. The call gave me all of my personal info, ssn date of birth, place of employement ect they knew everything. I have found severel websites with this same story. They said that they were a collection agency for Cashadvance.com. on Cashadvance.com there is an alert warning about this SCAM.

- ChrisI am a Connecticut attorney that practices in consumer rights. These companies are terrible and grossly violate the rights of consumers under federal and state law. The problem is that many of them aren't real companies/based in the US and we can't even figure out who they are or who to sue. You can't be jailed, arrested, or anything of that nature in any state for failure to pay a debt. Don't ever take a payday loan or give any company of this nature access to your bank accounts. If you already have, immediately call your bank and inform them that the company does not have authorization to debit your account and is prohibited from doing so. Additionally, if you owe money to one of these companies, do not pay it back. These are not legitimate US companies lending under federal or state laws and will not sue you in court. You are also under no legal obligation to give them information, be polite on the phone, or even take these calls.

- Fed Up-EarlyGood morning, my harrassing calls began today @ 10:30am from (804) 384-0429. Everything that you all stated above is what has been done to me in the past 20 minutes. I immediately went to the internet to look up the origin of the phone number and it lead me to this complaint site. They called my cell phone 10 times and my work number. When the call to my work came in, this (heavily accented man) who called himself Don Ramsey asked to speak to my supervisor and when my co-worker said that the supervisor was not in, Mr. Ramsey began telling her that I was stealing from the company and he was calling from the legal department of DFF and it was urgent that the supervisor as well as myself call them back because criminal charges would be filed. I knew it was bogus.... this is why I began my search for info! After reading the above complaints, I was targeted by scammers.

- OMG!!i just hung up with and didn't answer about 15 back to back calls. I also was verbally assaulted by these men who had no proof of anything they were saying. I have taken out payday loans in the past and was worried i had overlooked a payment. I checked my bank statements during these screaming matches- they got me fired up! I found no such loan. I also tried to get documentation- the guy told me to shut up! told me he was going to put my ss # on google!!! then i finally hung up and he must have called back 15 times straight in a row! How frustrating!!!!

- GiG replies to Tina BrannonIt's all a HUGE SCAM running out of India.
Just ignore all other calls. - Amy| 3 repliesOK... So Im getting the same guy, caller ID is saying unknown number. He is giving me the name MICHAEL CHAVEZ with DFF LEGAL DEPARTMENT, with this phone number: 610-200-8026. I KNOW HOW THIS HAPPENED! About a month ago, I googled "payday loans"... I looked at several different companies/websites. I even went as far on one website (I have NO idea which one) to fill out a little info. But I stopped, never completed the application and closed my browser. All of the companies payback rate was either double or tripple the small amt. I needed, and I just couldn't bring myself to agree to that. The next day, and for the next three weeks I recieved 50+ emails a day from multiple payday loan websites, and they were calling my house phone all day trying to loan me money. I began to unsubscribe from the emails, and hang up on all calls. For the past week I have been getting calls from this unknown number, but would leave no message. TODAY I was home and caught the call. It was this guy! Same strong indian acct. Same threats. I was being charged with theft by recieving, electronic fraud, and identity theft via email. He had ALL my personal info, S.S.#, bank act.#, home address, e.t.c. HOWEVER, he never said he had my bank routing #. Yet he did know my banks name. Threatened to arrest me, was going to take my house, I would be paying him $3000+, kept throughing the word "federal" around. He said I borrowed the money from CASH ADVANCE or CASH NET..then he named off around 20 other diff. payday loan companies that I could have borrowed it from. I KNEW THIS WAS A SCAM, so I entertained him a bit. I asked how much did I borrow? He said "Between $250 & $350" I asked why he didnt know for sure, he talked over that. I then told him to listen to me carefully, that I to had been recording the conversation, and that I had never recieved any deposit into my bank act. from any payday loan company, nor had I requested or authorized any deposit.I told him that I would be contacting the police about this & my attorney, and would be listing a fraud alert on my bank act. And that if he ever called me again, I would sue him as well. He screamed he would be calling me again, and that he was coming to "my town" tomorrow to file these charges "into my name" and I would be arrested tomorrow. Said he was going to call my job, I laughed real hard and said "Go ahead, I'll give you the number...it's 911, I'm a cop". He hung up. Just to be on the safe side, I called my bank... they say I have to close my act. and open a new one to protect myself.... what a hassle.

- Chris replies to Amy| 2 repliesI have also been contacted by these people. Heavy Indian accent, except i bought into it they have taken me for $500 already and are currently trying to obtain more. I just threatened them with legal action and now they are franctically calling my work number. They also have my account info, i just cancelled my debit card, so the whole account should be changed? I will contact my bank again and see what they recommend. The only difference is the telephone number: I have received calls from another individual who transferred me to "Steve Hogan" (804) 506-0763and this "Michael Chavez" and their liason "Marcus or Marcos James very heavy accent as well. I have received calls from the phone numbers: (804) 454-7387, (631) 409-8056. They have my direct line at work, I have left them a message that my lawyer would like documentation and copies of their credentials. Can we report this to anyone who can look into these scams? Can't they be caught by tracing who owns these phone lines? Please advise!!!

- btom| 2 repliesI keep getting these harrassing phone calls. They called the other day and harrassed my 15 year old son until he was in tears. We keep telling them that the person they are looking for does not live in the home. They told my son that he was lying and that he was the intended party and they were sending the police over to arrest him. The woman's name is Angel Brown. Angel, if you are reading this. LOOK OUT!! I will be looking for you!! You have no right to harrass an inocent child.
I want a number for them if anyone has one that I can actually get a live person!! I will be calling and harrassing them from now on!!- Caller: DFF Investigations

- DLF02/10/2012 I have been receiving harrasing calls from 804-212-0433 at work, home and my cell phone. An individual with a very heavy Indian Accent calls and sometimes says his name is Jeff Thomas or Jimmy Johnson or some other american name and claims that he is from the "legal Dept of BFF". I am positive it is SCAM because when I started asking them questions they get very rude and indignet. they have also been calling people that I put down as references for a payday loan that I applied for at one point. They have threatened me by stating I will be arrested at work, and dragged away kicking and screaming and that I need to bring them money immediately. I have also reported each call to the Federal Trade Commission but nothing seems to be able to stop them from calling.
