Not much info, I'm afraid. Since I get calls on a regular basis from scam phone numbers (as found on this site), I don't answer any number I don't recognize. As is the case with the other scam calls, this one just rang four times and hung up before VM came on, leaving no message. It's the first time I've gotten a call from this number. CID showed Richmond, VA.

Our answering machine allows us to hear what is being said while the message is still playing, When the answering machine picked up, I heard, "Hello, is _____ there?" This is the same message and voice that has called from different numbers throughout the US.

Received my fourth call since October 1 from these guys. Same routine: I don't answer, they don't leave a message.

We get a lot of calls with a long buzz tone, no voice, annoying.

So everyone knows, this is a not so legitimate caller.  They call themselves the Breast Cancer Society and will call from all over the state you reside in.  If you block them on one number, they start calling on another number.  Now don't get me wrong, as I support Brest Cancer research and those fighting the front line with this cancer, but this group is far from helping.  It is known that they'll ask for a donation and be very cordial in the process, but what they fail to note is that for every dollar you give them, only $0.10 goes to groups actually supporting breast cancer research or those in a fight with it.  Do not, and I repeat, do not donate to this group.

I should also note that the reason that some of you are getting dead air space when you answer these calls is because they are doing what's known as trolling with an automated dialer.  Wherein as, when they get a number picking up, the machine/computer notes a response and you will start to get continuous calls from that number.  Do not whatsoever call these numbers back.  More than likely will go to a recording because the person on the other end doesn't recognize your number; fancy that :>).  However, it just reinforces their uncertainty of an actual person and will increase the level they start trying to call you.
