Since I did not recognize the number, I did not answer figuring it was a telemarketer. They did not leave a message. Did not find them on Google.

They are legit.  Not a telemarketer.  It is a company named GOOD HIRE.  They were hired by a potential employer to do a background check, which I authorized.  I didn't answer the call and there was no message.  In hindsight, it must have been a part of their verification.  A short while later, I received an email from potential employer giving me a link to sign in and access the background report that was furnished to them. It lead me to Good Hire.  With a special individual log-on, I got to see their report on me (which I appreciate being able to view). It all checked out.  They are legit.

I MAY BE MISTAKEN!!!  I just talked to GOOD HIRE and they couldn't find that this number was connected to them, although I swear I logged on to a webpage today researching this number and it had Good Hire on that page.  Since I can't find that page again,  I RETRACT THE ABOVE COMMENT.

Received same call number and did not leave a message. I never pick up incoming calls unless I recognized the number or message left was legit (meaning I expect the call for a good reason). I've been getting too many calls from unknown callers coming from all over US.

I got a call from this number and it sounds like all the other scam calls I get on a regular basis. Added them to the caller ID with the rest of the numbers under "SCAM." Easy as pick up hang up. No i don't want to buy any ink for my printer!! No i don't want to verify my business website!! No i don't want office supplies!! No i don't want an ad in the newpaper!! No i dont want to support the wheelchair veterans of america!! No i don't want to tell you the name of the business owner!! No i dont want an airplane to fly a banner with my company name on it!! NO NO NO!! These people are making it really hard to be nice.

Folks - DO NOT ANSWER UNKNOWN CALLS!  THEY ARE ALWAYS SCAMS!

They called at 1:18pm.  BLOCKED!
We have had the 804 area code blocked for over 1 year.  Our phones do not ring when these criminals call.

Received a call from this number on my office extension.  Robocall from Shari, a specialist at "Google" in advertising.  I hung up before the spiel could continue.

don't be so quick to judge the 804 area code. That is the original area code for the state of Virginia! Through contraction, though, it is now only central Virginia. There are over 8 million non-criminal, non-scamming people living here ;-)

I have blocked a dozen numbers from these callers wanting us to claim our Google business listing. I'm not absolutely sure if these pesky people are really associated with google, but their multi-year persistence indicates they are. They change their number every few months to get through the blocks and I block them again. Seems Google is too big and invasive to pass their own "Don't be evil" test.

"It is urgent we contact the business owner"  Really bad things will happen if we don't.

Has to be some kind of scam.  I'm not "the business owner" and the number they called is never used for official business contact.

I missed a call from this number,  I have many family members in VA with this same area code so I returned the call.  A recording answered and said "If you would like to be placed on the Do Not Call List, Press 1".  I pressed 1, and that was it -  My guess is........telemarketer.

Probably Google. I'm in area code 804, so I answered and it hesitated and then computer kicked in "hello...." I hung up. I do have a google account. I'm not in the market for a job or anything, so it's a robocall.....f em

My home area code is 804 as well. Its for Richmond, Va and surrounding areas

This number just called me as well.  I have family in Richmond and a home- so I called.  Its answered by a computer and simply says- If you would like to be placed on a do not call list for this number press 1.   so I did-  they call every other day.

Another number for the Google  business placement SCAM, I receive several a Week but not nearly as many as I receive from Apple Maps. Apple Maps has been calling me for 3 Weeks 5 or 6 Times per Day.

My wife answered because we are in the 804 area code. She said they were looking for the business owner.

Received the very same automatic call from this number, looking for the business owner.  Answered because I also live in the 804 area code.

804 is also an international code for India.

804 is NOT international code for India. (It is +91). 804 is for Richmond, Virginia.
