Received dozens of calls from Virginia and this phone number.

I ALSO RECEIVED TWO PHONE CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER.  804-431-3120
WHY DID THEY NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE.

This is a number for something called "The Fund Raising Center."  These are normally individuals who place calls to raise money for various organizations.  They are paid to do this by the organization raising money.

Called on Sunday afternoon. We are on "do not call"   What gives???

They called at 6:30 PM EST, did not leave a message either.

Non-Profit organizations are exempt from the Do Not Call

Looks like they are staring the new year off with their annoying phone calls I just got 1 but did not answer, no messages so I assume it is the same telemarketer.  It is to bad the "do not call list" does not apply to non-profits.

Got a call on Sunday at 3:23pm.  I answered and no one responded.  I hate it when that happens.  Not to mentioned I was exhausted from shoveling snow and ran to get the phone.

Call from F. O. P. asking for money. I continue to get these calls even though I am on the "Do Not Call List".

I live with my retired grandparents, and only ONE person in this house is awake before about 9. These people called at 8 in the morning! Apparently, someone said they're a non-profit organization looking for donations, but calling early in the morning is completely unacceptable. Idiots.

Why do you want them to leave a message?  I'll call and leave you one if it makes you feel better but I don't understand it.

Got a call this morning from this number and when I picked up and said hello the man on the other end started..."hello Mr. Perez" to which I said "sorry wrong number" and he replied..."Oh, I have the right number, I am call from the kentucky police association".... I stopped him and said.."We don't take solicitations over the phone and especially for something in Kentucky from a Virginia phone number, thank you and have a nice day"... he started in with..."you want to see you home broke into and not have enough police to be able to get there"... I hung up on that one...

We get calls from this number fairly often and I decided to answer.. The guy said he is calling about the FOP and they need donations.  I told him I would talk to my husband, and he continued to offer my donation of a smaller amount..  I finally said I wasn't donating anything before talking to my husband and that's it and he finally said ok and hung up..  It's VERY annoying and rude.. Is it a scam or really for the police?

It's the Virginia State Police association for fund raising services. They ask of a donation of $17.00 and they mail to you a Virginia State Police decal sticker to place on your vehicle showing your support for raising money.

Charities calling for donations typically the telemarketer gets 70% of your donation, the charity gets 30%.  When the charity has "police" or "sheriff" in the name its much worse, with the telemarketer keeping 95% of your donation.  

Don't give them anything.  If you want to donate to the police call the non-emergency line during normal business hours and ask them where to send a check.
