Glucose meter - Diabetics supplies telemarketer

This is an attempt to get people to pay for a reverse look-up service. In either case, the robo-call is pure harassment and a full attempt to commit multiple frauds with the company called "Reverse Look Up".
Take notice: this company is outside the US, does not conform to US Laws, and wants your credit card number, Name, etc.

I received a call from this number. Hung up after a single ring.

I second Stuarts reply. I have been getting a large number of calls from multiple different phone numbers with the same M.O. (Hang up after one ring). I believe this is an attempt by a reverse look-up service to pay for service. I refuse to call these numbers back to identify their purpose in fear that I get added to more illegal call lists.

Gotten multiple calls all one ring and then a hang up from this number. I think the other folks are onto something. Possibly call the number and it transfers you to out of the country and bam you get a bill for a few hundred bucks.

Robocall "This is Allison - how are you today?"  I answered in a foreign language and it gave up.

I refuse to answer my phone for phone numbers I don't know.  They have called 3 times in a 24hr period   and Never leave a message..

I received three phone calls from this number in the last twenty four hours. 1-805-253-7514.

Return call and automative voice response system stated if you do not wish to be called again and to be placed on the DO NOT CALL list, press one {we did}  and the automative system stated to allow up to 72 hrs to be removed from the list.

Mon, 12.22.2014 at 8:47 pm CT, received a call with no message left.

I hate this one.  It's a auto response system, and if you don't ask questions right it disconnects.  Honestly, it can only work for the most stupid of consumers, and diabetics generally aren't completely stupid, so I don't understand how this one works.  I've never been able to get through all the prompts, but I haven't been a 100% sheep about it either.  I will have to make up a person (name, age, address, health insurance company, etc) just so I can try to get my "free glucose meter" and see who's behind this.  Grr....

As a caregiver to a diabetic with a brain injury I am offended by your implications on who is stupid or not. My diabetic wants a Meter that will speak the readout. Because of a non-related learning disability, dyslexia, does not always read the numbers correctly. When basing insulin dosage on an incorrect reading, the effects could cause coma or death.
I suggest you not make assumptions as to what determines stupidity in a public forum such as this.

You misunderstand - I do think think that anyone willing to get out personal information to an anonymous robot without the slightest knowledge of how that info will be used is lacking something upstairs.  And frankly, I've never met a diabetic that fell into that category (and a friend of mine who's a diabetic gets these calls, too, and doesn't like them).  Dyslexia, while difficult, doesn't qualify as 'stupid', as generally they are more intelligent than average, so I'm not sure what that has any bearing on.  As a care-giver for someone, I'm sure you're qualifying either, and would never just give out patient information to some robot on the phone.

That's why I really don't see how this scam works very well.

A talking meter would be awesome, though.  But I don't think that's what's being 'advertised' here.

Here again (Hi MommaD!), so obviously got another one of these calls.  Didn't get it in time.  They are persistent, but I still don't understand how this scam is supposed to be effective.

I picked up on 2nd ring but caller hung up.  i blocked future calls

Also received call from CITALARMS.  No one there.  Did not call back.  sure they are up to no good!

Same as the others.  They call and hang up.  Phone number is 805-253-7514 .  I will not call them back! And...will not bother to answer next time I see them on caller id.

805-253-7514  I've been getting this call from California and they leave no message which to me equals telemarketer or scammer!  It has been bugging me so I just called that number back and got a recording "thank you for calling us back. If you are not interested in our products or services and would like to be placed on our Do Not Call List please press 1 now" (which I did)..... "Please note this can take up to 72 hours to take effect"   then it disconnected.

Hopefully this will be the end of it!  I have done this with a number of such calls - called the number back and have generally gotten a recording with the option to remove my phone number from their "list".
