Legit service call from my mortgage company

I just checked the PennyMac site, and could not find an 805 area code number.
However, there seems to be a supposed mortgage company using that number, calling "on behalf of PennyMac".

Interesting ... if you were "happy" with that call, and know who it is, why did you post it at a site that is concerned with unknown or telemarketing / scamming phone numbers?

These sites are great to not only see who else is getting bombarded with SPAM, but also to verify legitimate numbers. As the first poster stated, this is a number that PennyMac uses when you sign up for a request for information about services. So I'm glad posters like the first one on this number do share.

Quite possibly ... but they currently do not display that number on their site.

This is PennyMac Loan services.  If you asked for information, this is who is calling.  They do not randomly call people. This is a mortgage company.

If this is really Penny Mac (who I have a mortgage with), I don't understand why they called me.  I am not late and don't owe anything until next month.   I also did not ask for any information.  So it has to be random.

I just received a call from them.  It's PennyMac,  We are looking at a refinance on our home and they were most likely hit with an inquiry from the other lender so they are being proactive trying to offer a better interest rate.

It's PennyMac.  They've called several times wanting us to refi at a better rate.

Called me as a "courtesy" call to ask if I was interested in a refi or thinking of purchasing a new home.  Definitely legit, but you don't necessarily need to answer the phone.

Didn't pick up bc it was an unknown #. If this is PennyMac, a legitimate business, I'm not sure how they got my number. I'm far from having a mortgage and I've never requested information from them. Never even heard of them.

Untrue....I've never asked PennyMac for a thing and they still bother me once a week at least.  Yes I do have a mortgage with them but have NEVER requested information.

Penny Mac. They have called before and I didn't answer but I called them back to find out that that were offering a chance to refinance my loan. I declined because I have never requested this and plus they never leave a message stating the purpose of them calling.

Penny Mac according to caller I.D. They call constantly leaving messages about bettering my mortgage rate. My thing is if I didn't call or request this information why continue to call me? especially after the 1st few times that I did not answer. I've blocked them and they still call from a different number.

Got a call from this number with no identification name.  Reading that it is a mortgage company but I have no mortgage so don't know why I got the call which I ignored.

Scam! Called and harnessed me on my mobile

Just got a call from the number in question (didn't answer it) but the caller from Penny Mac left a message asking that I call her back using a local (916) number??  She said that she saw my caller ID come through even though I didn't even call her phone number...

I called PennyMac and confirmed that this is legitimate. However, anytime you get a call like this, you should always get the person's callback information and ask if it's ok for you to call PennyMac directly to verify their legitimacy before continuing with them. If they're authentic they wouldn't balk at this whatsoever.

PennyMac. I Didn't answer the phone but they left a message, using my mame in their greeting, and stating that they're "calling on behalf of pennymac loan services about an important change in the service you are enjoying" and to call them back. I've received two calls in two months from them, different people calling and leaving voicemails with the same message.
