    Missed a call on my cell phone from number 805-388-7234, then received a text message from that same number that read "PLEASE CALL."  All attempts to return the call resulted in a fast busy signal, and when I texted back with a message that I was trying to call back but the number was busy, my text message was returned by my cell phone carrier with a message that 805-388-7234 was a land line.

      it's probably a collection agency if you've skipped out on a bill or something of that nature.  I got a call from there too and I know I'm in trouble! If not you probably signed up for some sweepstakes and they took your number down.  Alternatively it could be a research company trying to validate numbers so some other company can call and solicit.  I still believe it's the first assumption.  Good luck!

    They called our house asking for the person in charge of the phoneline.  They did not want to leave a phone number but it was recorded on our caller ID.  This is probably a scam.
